Like I've said before, Giacchino's MOH and Secret Weapons scores are much more entertaining and well written compared to most junk that tries to pass for film music these days.

Even Superman Return's game music was better than Ottman's score and it didn't use any of Williams' themes.

Video games have produced some of the best orchestral (or synth orchestral) music the last 5-10 years. Personally I'd say the game music industry is in much better shape than film music right now.

Good form indeed.

Video game music is doing impressively, indeed, but it's obviously becoming much more like film music, which isn't in all ways a good thing. For sheer creativity and fantasy, nothing beats those 8-bit Nintendo and Sega tunes. They're not like anything written before.

That's true, there's something very special about both that and the 16 bit eras. But that's true for the games themselves as well. That's a big reason I want to get a Wii, to get to play those classic games again that I never should have gotten rid of.

Well,If I have to pick one it's The Golden Compass. The track Sky Ferry has a Williams like sounding theme.and I recall the score in the film having some better parts than the album

You only included one, and that one is basically like a film score.
I also included Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix [computer game] - James Hannigan, so that makes two. And indeed it is basically like a film score, which is the reason why I think it deserves inclusion.
