I remember that the re-release had something wrong with it, but can't remember exactly what. Now that I really want to get it, I'm curious as to what this defect is. I don't want to throw my money away on something which I know is going to be imperfect.

This. If I remember correctly though, it was subsequently re-pressed with a different catalog number.

Hmm... It seems I may have to look further into this so that I can verify whether or not there was a re-pressing of the re-pressing. Weird.

Thanks again. I find it absolutely ludicrous that they wouldn't send fixed copies to everyone and recall the defective ones. Absolutely idiotic. I'm really debating about whether or not to get it.

I hadn't heard a note of it... or so I thought, until recently. I checked the samples at Screen Archives and really liked the first one. However, when the sample for the end credits came up, I immediately remembered having heard the piece in a documentary about The Nightmare Before Christmas. The material grabbed me instantly and I went to the library to grab the soundtrack to The Nightmare Before Christmas. Imagine my disappointment.

I remember that being one of the deleted scenes. I think it was cut before Elfman had a chance to score it, so the music that the editor had picked earlier stayed.

It's a fantastic score, and I'd imagine that by now, any new copy you buy would be of the later pressing.

I'd hope so. You can only tell when you have the physical CD in your hands, it says RE it's the good pressing. I got lucky. ^_^

On the underside (shiny side) of the CD itself, around the hole in the middle. The numbers on my CD (which sounds fine) are 45 CCM2 685-2 RE-1 01. I think you'd be unlucky to get a duff copy now that it's been available for a while (one of my sisters ordered it for me from Amazon before Christmas 2006).

I think you'll be fine as long as you don't order a second-hand copy (i.e. Ebay, Amazon Marketplace, Half.com)
