Quintus 5,391
Just tick a friggin box! Oh and comment too of course. I personally think it's a brilliant piece of music. For those in doubt: click for sound!
QMM 4
The theme had been overplayed by the time I saw the film so I'll just say that it doesn't bother me
Quintus 5,391
Damn, you're telling me? I've just heard it once again (surprisingly) during a tv trailer for the Sarah Conner Chronicles. Overuse indeed!
Morlock 9
I still love it.
ChuckM 1
I love it. And I know I'm going to be hung for this, but I especially like the MV-ish remix of it. (The one used in the Two-Towers trailer)
Red 73
It's great, but it is one of the most overplayed pieces of music I have ever seen. Even the best music can become tiresome.
BLUMENKOHL 1,064
That damn trailer remix is NOT the theme! It's a piece of crap that loses all the context of the original for epic boom boom. Here's the actual theme

Jacob 0
Pretty damn good actually. Entrancing. My first exposure was the Requiem for a Tower remix, which I do actually like.

Henry B 49
It's good music but I despise its use in trailers.
Ollie 859
The link Blumenkohl provided features a much better piece to judge it by. Listening to the first link one could say the piece totally sucks.Although listening to the second one doesn't improve it by much, a boring bland piece of music that fits today's sad state of film scoring. Koray Savas 2,095
I think this piece is up there with some of John Williams' scores. I am convinced though that someone like Clint Mansell didn't come with it, isn't it originally from Mozart?

Koray Savas 2,095
Yes, but I still think it's one of the best pieces ever composed. At least Top 25. Mark, feel free to quote me in your signature. I have no problem with it.

Koray Savas 2,095
Why not? Just because it's been overused?
Red 73
No, because it actually isn't as good.
Koray Savas 2,095
Saying it's not good isn't a reason. Put some musical insight into it. Forget the Requiem For A Tower remix or the Summer Overture, but rather the Lux Aeterna piece, without all the synth.I think the entire score to Requiem For A Dream is superb. I wrote an entire book off that score. Another reason why I don't want to see the movie, it'll ruin my perception of it.BTW, by write an entire book, I meant write half of a great story with bad dialogue and didn't like where I went with it so I made up a fake ending and never touched it again. But no worries, it's in the vault, I'll make it proper one day.
Ray Barnsbury 8
It may have suited the film, but musically it's almost completely uninteresting. It's the same boring chords and beat repeated through the whole piece, with other layers added on occasionally, like what anyone could do with Soundtrack Pro. Quintus 5,391
That damn trailer remix is NOT the theme! It's a piece of crap that loses all the context of the original for epic boom boom.My bad for getting the title wrong. But the remix IS the better version, it's a much more exciting listen than the yawn-fest that is the orginal.
Incanus 5,519
I still don't like this piece or the score and probably never will. I think the film is a good one but the music outside its context leaves me cold.

Richard Penna 2,082
"The Battle for Media Ventures is about to begin"I think the piece works well when it's used (top gear polar special, Two Towers trailer etc) but doesn't work so well for me as a standalone listen. As Ray said, it's just the same chords over and over again.Doesn't suck though IMO.
