Hook Prologue Trailer?

I thought Williams wrote "Prologue" for the Hook trailer. I have been looking on youtube, and only found trailers with different music. Was it not used? If it was, where is it?

Could it be in the DVD?

Not on the R1 -- and as far as I know, not on any of the other regions. There's only one trailer, and it's the one that uses "Witches of Eastwick" music.

Unfortunately, I suspect the only way for this particular trailer to get on YouTube (apart from an official release as a special feature somewhere down the line) would be for someone with an original theatrical trailer reel to transfer it to video and upload it.

Indeed. I've looked for it several times, looking on both region 1 & 2 DVDs as well as online, to no avail.

Nope, those are wrong links.

The first link you posted is a 30second commercial and the second link is the Witches Of Eastwick-scored teaser.

We're looking for the Prologue-scored trailer.

It's been a little over 17 years since I saw the teaser but if you want to know what the teaser was like for Hook just put on the prologue cue and imagine you're looking at a map of Neverland with the cast/crew credits listed. I believe it ended with that awkward scene from the film where they put Hook's hook on his hand that just shows the hook with all the sparks flying.

I believe that's how the teaser went.

That Jurassic Park teaser music isn't that good. It can stay unreleased. It sounds like someone trying to imitate JW and doing a poor job at it.

Actually, I thought it was pretty good.

If I can just see the "Prologue" trailer and hear the original finale for Attack of the Clones, I will die a happy JWFan.

Original finale? I thought the tracked music was planned from the beginning

The Imperial March section of the finale is a re-score that replaces Williams' original Finale, only 2 seconds of which have been released

And what is released is not Tracked...

Unless that with 'finale' he meant the whole Geonosis battle....

Wow, no wonder JW had to write this fantastic piece for the trailer... they had no footage at all at that point!

The music alone makes you wanna see this! :)

Man, why can't we have music like that for trailers any more?

Can you imagine a trailer like that being made today? "What...a magnifying glass. Over a map? That's it? Where's the explosions? Where's the one-liners? Where's the woosh? We need woosh! I'm not being blown out of my seat here!"

I was wondering the same thing, although a composer writing a whole piece just for a trailer was probably rare even then. But yeah, they don't make them like they used to.

Where's the Kaboom? There was supposed to be an earth shattering Kaboom!!!

Talk about being inspired...the fact that Williams wrote that amazing piece for such a low-key trailer makes it that much more impressive.
