I think one factor that is being ignored is that Shia Labeauf is becoming more of a name, and if Indiana Jones won't bring in as many youth, Shia might. I'm not saying they're going to market it as the Shia movie, nor should it be, but seeing him attached to the project could help bridge the gap between the older nostalgic crowd (and smart young crowd) and the newer...less educated crowd.
