Some new covers for Avatar and Avatar: The Way of Water:

Avatar by James Horner (Na'vi & Ikran)

Wow those are really lovely. One argument for having half a dozen different boots and other unmentionables in your iTunes library, to just enjoy all the lovely covers!

Is it more or does the artwork for the top two have a bit of a Studio Ghibli vibe?

Or just have one cover per track 😉

For some bonus tracks (which are always ripped as a separate “album”) I do that exact thing… although it’s great when there’s a range of bonus and alternate music to use all the amazing custom covers, ST:TMP is particularly great for this and there’s some great retro artwork which is ideally suited to the selection of “early” versions.

It’s from some very well-done fan art:

"fan art"? haha! The artist is Steven Chorney. He's responsible for quite many well known posters.
He's clearly emulating Drew Struzan's style with fluctuating success.

It’s based on a black and white comp by Chorney, but the artist literally identifies it as a “fan poster” here:

A couple more Bond custom covers:

@Steffromukdo you happen to know the font Varese uses for their Deluxe Edition banners?

It looks very similar to the Arial Regular but there are some subtle differences on the "E", "D" and "U" and the spacing isn't exactly the same.

That Dante's Peak cover looks incredible, almost 3D on my phone.

Thanks!

Anybody know of where to find:

1: Custom cover templates for photoshop, for boxsets and whatnot.

2: something that generates mockups for media sets, I had found something like that, when I was a member of Originaltrilogy.com, but I don't remember what it was!

As I said at FSM, gorgeous Oz covers @Steffromuk!

I wanted to ask if you would be willing to do a variant of this specific one with the composer and orchestra credit centred below Mombi, if possible, even if it means dropping the LSO credit? I just like the symmetry of that art and would like to see the text following suit.

@Steffromukhow do you decide on which cover to tackle next? The availability of high quality source material? Needing a decent cover for a score that has a mediocre one? The desire for a challenge?

It's completely random most of the time.

It often comes from some scores in my playlist that have covers I dislike. I go search for high quality and if possible unusual promo art or rejected art.

Sometimes it can take months or even years before I find the right visual.

Sometimes while searching for one movie material I come across another that inspires me, then I end up doing a different cover than I planned.

For the series (like Jaws, the 90s Batman series or Planet of the apes) I collect a bunch of visuals over the years, until I find an idea to unify all and create a cohérent set of covers.

That AotC cover is very unique and cool. Though I'm curious what the two lightsaber duels represent?

Anakin vs Dooku, and Obi-Wan vs. Dooku?

Has anyone made some covers for Young Indiana Jones Chronicles?

I'm rather proud of these for only my second time doing this. I was trying for an early 90's vibe.
