Koray Savas 2,095
There is a group in my psychology class doing an experiment. They handed out sheets asking people to write the names of the 7 HP books in any order. From what I saw, about 95% didn't get Deathly Hallows. And many of them were only half-filled or misspelled. BLUMENKOHL 1,064
Nah. The books will endure. The books will become be as well known as LotR books are today. There is a fundamental difference between LotR and Harry Potter. One is literary fiction, the other is commercial fiction. MSM 85
The first one is very entertaining, I liked it even better the second time I saw it. The sequels are an incoherent mess, I was thoroughly bored with each one.Ok this was about what I also meant.
Pieter Boelen 633
I thought the first film was brilliant, the second and third pretty good, but could've been quite a lot better. I thought part 2 and 3 were mainly too dark and dramatic and they lost the sense of fun that you do have in the first.
tpigeon 3
I actually liked the second two movies more than the original.

JoeinAR 1,759
Harry Potter has been critically acclaimed as literature, and not mere pulp novels. Blume is using the tired argument based on the popularity of JKR's works. It should be noted that LOTR's has been hugely popular, enjoying quite a resurgence of popularity, and which films were bigger commercial successes? LOTRs sounds very commercial to me. Years from now there will be the LOTR fans in one corner, and HP fans in the other, saying the same thing, then there will be fans of both in the middle who recognise that both are popular but wonderfully written, literary tales that will continue to stand the test of time. JWfangirl1992 18
The first one was really good. The second one was amazing but it was like an entirely different movie but not in a bad way. I thought Davy Jones was amazing he absolutely made the movie. AWE was alright I loved the effects and of course Davy Jones but it was amazing but it wasn't horrible. Joe Brausam 203
Davy Jones was definately what made the last two films for me. They made a great character out of him.
Maglorfin 195
I've always loved the first one, I thought it was a very fun and entertaining film. Johnny Depp is absolutely fantastic, he really brings the character to life in a way no pirate on film has ever. I believe Jack Sparrow will become one of the most iconic names in film, mainly due to Depp's wonderful portrayal of him. The plot is great, the action is exciting, the humor is hilarious, the SFX are good, it's just an overall great film.I definitely agree, the first one is really great fun, very classy and passionately made and acted. It's the only one of the three that I have on the DVD. However, i didn't like the 2 and 3 so much. The 2 is still quite cool with many memorable sequences, but the 3 really didn't persuade me, to me it was overlong and overblown. But, as I said, the first film is and will remain a classic, thanks in 90 % to Johnny, who really did splendid work with Mr Sparrow.
