Perhaps a little heavy-handed, Joe?

sometimes Alan to kill a fly you must use a cruise missle.

Gladiator is a Hans Zimmer's masterpiece. Just felt like throwing that in there, at the risk of dumbing down a lot of his other great scores of course. Like Driving Miss Daisy.

koray isn't my inspiration, nor is it really my opinion, but its more of a total inspiration from the board that seems to think that all of john's music is a masterpiece, except for the real masterpieces of course.

I've not even heard Geisha's score. That would be because I am yet to see the film, which I probably never will.

I've heard The Chairman's Waltz though. It was okay I suppose.

Hook ** again I have never connected to this score

Okay, forget it as a working score. Do you like the music as a standalone listen? As a musical album?

Perhaps that is exactly how you review a score anyway, I don't know.

For me Hook is about as entertaining as JW gets, speaking strictly from a musical standpoint.

I've always felt that the music as score is a tad ott.

not a bit, I think Hook is a weak score, album, and its among the 3 or 4 worst films of Spielberg's career.

Stefan and Chris Chrusher have tried to help me like the score, I do have Stefans awesome complete version, but I don't find it enjoyable for the most part, but I do like the elevator music in it but not enough to listen but once a year, as I review all JW scores.

I know this is a joke thread, but I'm bored, so I'm gonna list mine anyways! :P

The Cowboys ****1/2 A fantastic score

Images *** very unique, but not always completely listenable on its own...

The Eiger Sanction *** nice melodies, nice tunes

Monsignor *** again, very nice score

Jaws ****it did wonders for the film, and it is a pretty good overall listen

Midway **1/2 the march is great, but I don't listen to it much other than that

Star Wars ****1/2 absolutely fantastic, some of the most exciting music ever written

Close Encounters of the Third Kind **** to be honest, I like the suite on By Request more than anything on the actual soundtrack. still, some truly fantastic music. i need to listen to this more often.

Jaws 2 ****1/2 one of JW's best, better than the Jaws (in terms of listening experiance)

Superman **** the march and the love theme are one of JW's best, and it has some other great material as well

1941 ****1/2 very fun, entertaing, excellent score

Empire Strikes Back ***** one of JW's very best, it has great themes and great music overall. a masterpiece.

Raiders of the Lost Ark ****1/2 excellent

E.T. ***** a masterpiece, the finale is one of the greatest finales ever written

Return of the Jedi **** not as good as the other two, but still fantastic

Temple of Doom ****1/2 fabulous, almost as good as Raiders

Witches of Eastwick ***1/2 very macabre-like, very fun, "Dance of the Witches" is great

Empire of the Sun **** great score, "Jim's New Life" and "Cadillac of the Skies" are magnificent

Last Crusade ***** a masterpiece, best Indy score

Home Alone ***** another masterpiece, very fun

Hook***** yet another masterpiece (three in a row!)

Far and Away **** fabulous score, with music which is both exhilerating and beautiful. "The Land Race" is one of JW's best.

Home Alone 2 **** great score indeed. the new songs and underscore is great, but much of it is reused from the first

Jurassic Park ****1/2 this score contains one of JW's best cues ever

The Lost World ****1/2 very exciting, safari adventure. very different from first, but still great

Sabrina *** i don't listen to this one much, but when I do I enjoy it

Phantom Menace **** 1/2 another fantastic score, with bright brass and very star-warsy

Saving Private Ryan **1/2 "Hymn to the Fallen" is absolutely brilliant, but the rest of the soundtrack isn't too interesting IMO

The Patriot *** not at all a bad score, nothing original, but a great theme and fanfare and some good underscore too

AI ***1/2 beautiful melodies, wonderful overall score

Sorcerer's Stone ***** a masterpiece, fabulous fabulous score

Attack of the Clones **** the worst of the SW films, but not at all bad. it deserves more credit

Minority Report **** excellent score, with the eeries strings of "Spyders" to the tenderness of "Sean's Theme" and "A New Beggining"

Chamber of Secrets **** almost all of the new stuff is superb. Fawkes is one of JW's best cues, as is Chamber.

Catch Me If You Can ****1/2 an excellent jazzy score. the main titles are great

Prisoner of Azkaban ***** a masterpiece, one of the most unique JW scores

The Terminal **** love the main theme, as well as the love theme. the rest of the score is nice

Revenge of the Sith ****1/2 very tragic, very said, and very hopeful as well. a great SW score, the best of the prequels

War of the Worlds **1/2 the worst JW score i own. Boring and uninteresting, though I do enjoy several cues

Memoirs of a Geisha *** some fantastic cues, but the score as a whole is rather boring

My masterpieces (according to the list):

Empire Strikes Back

E.T.

Last Crusade

Home Alone

Hook

Sorcerer's Stone

Prisoner of Azkaban

He says he works at barnes and noble...but i think he must pretend to work while visiting the forums :P

I work at B&N only on tues & thurs nights.

I work as an internal auditor for the state during the day, meaning I do have down time as much of my job is waiting for people to lock themselves out of our various systems.

I decided to start from the 70's specifically the Cowboys, instead of Fiddler which wasn't John's music although you can feel his touch. I went with a 5 star system its a bit more flexible than a 4 star system, and I've allowed the boards influences to modify my ratings.

Munich ***** a masterpiece

Who influenced that? Koray? The positive feedback seems a little slim to call it a "masterpiece". Unless, tis your opinion only.

koray isn't my inspiration, nor is it really my opinion, but its more of a total inspiration from the board that seems to think that all of john's music is a masterpiece, except for the real masterpieces of course.

Well then AOTC certainly isn't as loved as you think it is, I think many ppl like it, but rank it at the bottom end of the Star Wars scores.m Chop off a star or two and you are good to go. :P

Couldn't this thread have been done in a 'RateMyHamster.com' format, for us who are tired after work? ;)

You know, the album covers would jump up on screen and we'd have several choices of rating buttons to click before moving onto the next? I can't be bothered to go through my scores and type stars. Although, I took time out to type this post which kind of contradicts what I'm saying.................anyway, we delivered the bomb......I'll never put on a lifejacket again
