Morn 8
Well actually Spielberg in an interview said what he thought the reason was. He said Star Wars was like Lucas's baby and he didn't want to loose artistic control of it. He said he was like this with ET.
Harry Potter 0
3-Spielberg respects Lucas in a way he wouldn't want to direct SW and steal the show like Indy.Spielberg has repeatedly said he wants to direct a Star Wars movie.~Harry

Chris ChrusherComix 46
TPM AND AOTC could have been made INCREDIBLE with Spielberg's direction.Think about ET. The plot is SO stupid. ET is stupid looking. The story is utterly unbelievable and nonsensical, but it is one of the most touching and moving films in movie history.Even Hook or AI, love 'em or hate 'em, usually get better critical acclaim and ratings than the Star Warsprequels.Believe me... TPM and AOTC would have been DAMN fine if Spielberg directed them.
