yes, but not as much these days, my budget & time only allows so much fanboyness.

Whilst there are a mere small group of fanboys out there that I'll give the time of day, the large majority of them can commit suicide for all I care. Nuff said. :P

I honestly consider listening to Disco music a lesser punishment than having to put up with a fanboy's deluded ramblings about how incredibly awesome Bay's Transformers is. :sleepy:

My recent remark from the KOTS audio samples thread:

"Am I the only one who clicks this thread every time I see a new post hoping that someone will have revealed the location of the entire score for download?"

I believe that about sums it up.

I meet enough criteria that I ban myself from calling other people fanboys as to avoid the obvious hypocricy. We're all on extremely weak ground to be throwing the term around at others.

If this is referring to being a fanboy of Williams then certainly I'm not one. The only thing I'm a fanboy of for Williams is his music for Star Wars. Williams is definitely not my favorite composer.

Well good for you

To a lot of us he's more than our favourite composer .His music is one of the 2 or 3 things in general I'm most passionate about.

No.

I was a fanboy when I was 8 to 14 years old.

It's one to like something but to me an adult fanboy takes it too far.

I LOVE JW's music, but I do not consider myself a fanboy.

The only time I saw him in concert was at the Detroit appearance, and I live in Michigan, so it wasn't like I went out of my way for the concert. Also, I collect his CDs, but not for the sake of collecting, but because he composes some beautiful music that blows away the works of current film composers.

I would consider a fanboy someone who collects all of JW's stuff (rare, original OST, concert recordings, etc.), goes to as many of his concerts as possible (all over the US), stands by the exits and entrances of orchestra halls every time he performs in order to get as many autographs as possible, etc.

I've never been to a concert

I'm pretty obsessive about the search for unreleased music and getting every little theme he composed(at least after 1970)

To me a fanboy is someone who over does it. Has Star Wars bed sheets, curtains, towels etc etc. Someone who obsesses about things too much.

There's nothing wrong with collecting things whether it be toys, action figures or film scores but there also is a fine line between having a section of a room decorated with toys as opposed to the whole house.

Switching your name to Obi Wan Kenobi or naming a child after a celebrity are examples of fanboys.

Hell I just come here to talk. I don't think just because you post here you should be labeled a fanboy.

I don't think anyone does that.

You don't have to fulfill all of the criteria......maybe one of them? :)

Ok, now that qualifies you as a fanboy.......see!!!!

My only trend into obsessiveness is ripping unreleased music off DVDs. But only for my favorite scores, not all of them. I don't see how collecting and listening to film music is essentially any different from any other hobby. One that you care about passionately and enjoy.

KM, I take that back.

I am obsessive about unreleased music also.

I agree with Mark's post. That's more on the lines of what a "fanboy" is.

Sometimes it seems I make a bigger deal about it than everyone else ,like the little ToD unreleased clip.

And we have our first JW FANGIRL! .Miss Padme is not your ordinary female JWfan

Okay I agree that's definitely a definition of fanboy. For me I'm going to end up having all six Star Wars posters the big ones displayed in my room and the FX sabers displayed next to them too. That to me there's nothing wrong with having something like that...but yes doing what you just said a lot of fans have done and that's too extreme there.

I admit I had a period where my whole appartment was overtaken with Star Wars figures, toy spaceships, movie posters .Now I toned it down a lot and only kept a few posters I liked and 1 shelf unit of my favourite movie figures/statues.

My definition of a fanboy is one who automatically assumes the person they admire is better than everybody else. For JW, it would be considered every single JW score better than any others (obviously not EVERY other score, but most). I try not to be, but I'm sure I am biased in a way that I cannot control. I think everybody is, whether it's related to film scores or not.

I have 3 JW autographs and I have been to 2 JW concerts.

I'm not the fanboy I should be. I want MORE! And I know I shouldn't.

The JWFan Network will be re-organized into the first JWFanboy Network!

No it doesn't . There are plenty of scores that are almost to the level of JW. Just don't give me this crap about OotP beeing one of them.

Maybe your a fanboy when you listen to a new JW piece 10 times in a row at 3 AM

K.M. The Star Spangled Banner, arr john Williams

Well, yes, almost, since I consider Williams the best. Some Goldsmith,Horner and Barry outdo him in some cases, but do not beat his masterpieces.

Yes. Have all JW cd's printed to date. I guess that makes me one. Huh?

Do you like most or all of them? Do you listen to or think about Williams each day? You're a fanboy if the answer is yes.

I have all of my "fanboyish" stuff isolated into one room with a locked door. That way, I can be a fanboy when I want to be, and nobody has to know it's there!

But honestly, the room is ridiculous.

Maybe we could franchise this like Jeff Foxworthy does with his "You Might A Redneck" jokes.

"If you are fluent in 2 foreign languages and Klingon is one of them, you might be a fanboy."

"If an autographed picture of George Takei sits between your wedding and children's photographs, you might be a fanboy."

"If your bedroom is exactly the same as it was during the late 70's Star Wars craze, you might be a fanboy."

"If you know the lyrics to Lapki Nek, you might be a fanboy."

"If your kid's dog craps in the house and you tell them to clean up the Bantha Poodoo, you might be a fanboy."

"If you ca sit thru a viewing of Revenge Of The Sith and recite the dialogue line for line, you might be a fanboy."

Actually we could do a seperate thread for this.....
