Goldsmithfan 3
To be perfectly honest, I think I enjoy this passage more than the main march itself. There's just something about it.Anyway, I gave the Raiders OST a listen the other day and absolutely loved the bits from Desert Chase which utilized the B section in such an action packed setting. I'd somehow managed to forget all about those moments. Sadly, I don't think it was used in that fashion in Temple of Doom or The Last Crusade. I can only hope it will happen again for Kingdom of the Crystal Skull... though I know it won't.Any opinions on the subject? Anyone agree with me? Ray Barnsbury 8
I wouldn't say I like it more than the main march, but it's great, and just a touch less catchy than the main theme. I like how Williams' originally had it as one of his two ideas for Indy's primary theme, and Spielberg liked both so much that Williams used it as the bridge for the main march. Anyone agree with me?I'm with you, it'd be nice if it were used in the Jungle Chase in the same way. Williams obviously dusted off the Raiders score when he wrote the new one, so I say its a good possibility unless there are leaked score tracks that say otherwise. I'm avoiding any sound clips until I get the CD.

It is used in the excellent, unreleased "Portuguese Coast" from Last Crusade, though.

As soon as you mentioned it, that moment from the film came rushing back.when Indy tries to enter the truck and it's played real fast. That used to be my single favourite moment from the original OST.That was the moment I'd somehow managed to forget. The passage as the chase ends and you can see on Indy's face the toll which the adventure has taken on him is also wonderful as well, especially the way the theme winds down. Fabulous work. I think it does appear in counterpoint with Short Round's theme, after the fight with that big bloke (Pat Roach). I saw the movie this morning, and I have already forgot it :$

The main part of the "Raiders March" symbolizes the adventurE aspect of the Indy character. Him going off into the unknown and it gets your blood going. The B part(bridge) represents the determination aspect of Indiana Jones. His toughness and resiliency. The part that won't give up, no matter how many and how big the obstacles and enemies are in his way! The A section is "Indiana" and the bridge is "JONES"! I hope the B section gets highlighted in the new movie the way it was on the "Desert Chase" in Raiders.
