Every few days I will post a thread on a random score from my collection that we can discuss and rate. I made a playlist on my computer with one track of each score I've got, so by using the random play option, I'll be able to post a truly random score each time. Hopefully this will allow us to discuss some scores that would otherwise never be discussed. Also we can record the rating so that we can create a full list of the ratings given to scores by JWFan.com.

Today's score is Flesh & Blood by Basil Poledouris. Are you familiar with it? What do you like about it? What don't you like about it? How do do you think it works in the film? What are your favourite tracks?

I'll have to think about whether to give it 4 or 4.5 stars. It's a damn fine score, but time and again I realise that I remember very little from it. Perhaps it's just the CDs poor sequencing, or perhaps it's really so repetitive. Other than that, it's top notch.

A very good score and I recommend viewing the film at least once.

I think I'll give it 4.5 stars. It has some good themes and the action music, of which there is quite a lot, is really quite good as well. The music between the action tracks has, so far, not really managed to hold my attention though. I especially like the tracks "Castle Invasion" and "Denouement/End Title", though the tracks "Main Title", "Siege of the City", "Wagon Attack" and "The Box" are also very good and enjoyable.

Never seen the film, but the latest Prometheus release is easily 4 stars. We get winningly passionate love themes, an unapologetically plangent fanfare of a main theme, and a convincingly "medieval" period feel. Nothing that'll knock you out of your seat the way the first Conan will, but the entire album sustains itself well over myriad listens.

Now that things are quieting down as far as Indiana Jones is concerned, how about some more votes on this one? There MUST be more than 5 people who have heard this score.
