It looks to be around the time when JW was the Principle Conductor of the Boston Pops. Take a look at those glasses, for proof. And Gene Shalit, my goodness. I thought I recognized it from the episode in 1993 celebrating John Williams' retirement where he did montage of film clips which included all of those presented in this interview.
