This is a great interview, but it is not recent, as you say. It looks to be around the time when JW was the Principle Conductor of the Boston Pops. Take a look at those glasses, for proof. And Gene Shalit, my goodness.

dont let Bryant see them, bucause walkie talkies make more sense.

imagine how different the music would have been if they had used walkie talkies to begin with

btw Neil in the alterations did they remove Dee Wallace's line "no guns, no guns, there children."?

Huh? What recording of "the boulder chase" is this... not familiar with it? It's not the Original Soundtrack Recording....

ah maybe from that life concert..like the others.. and ahhh the E.T. finale story again :-)

Is that where the concert was really from? I thought I recognized it from the episode in 1993 celebrating John Williams' retirement where he did montage of film clips which included all of those presented in this interview.
