Eh, I'm not too big on compilations but I won't get rid of the ones I already have.

I don't buy compilations (except for composers unknown to me, as a started package). But The Spielberg/Williams Collaboration and Williams on Williams are recordings of the concert versions - different both in writing and in performance from the OST versions. And I wouldn't want to miss the former's Scherzo for Motorocycle and Orchestra for the world.

I never felt the need to get it. I still need Williams on Williams though.

It's better than Williams on Williams. In fact, it's the best JW compilation album.

Don't see how. As you said, it's a compilation. I already have most of the other stuff on it.

This set just about single-handedly made me a JW fan. And I like that the arrangements often differ from the album versions. Makes the sporadic returns to the set enjoyable time and time again.

For me, it was By Request. To this day, I enjoyed the "Suite from CE3K" and the "Theme from Jaws" more than anything on those two soundtracks. But I must look into buying this set.

Everything on 1969-1999 are concert versions, some of which have been released on other sets.

Haven't *all* of them been released on other sets? That's been my impression at least... hence my intention of tracking down those other sets instead of getting the "condensed" compilation release. :)

I've got the Williams on Williams and the Speilberg / Williams Collaberation.

I remember when the Spielberg/Williams album was released. Tower Records had a big poster on the wall advertising it. I would have loved to have that.

That's right, they were ALL released individally on other sets. Some months ago I finally got the only CD missing in my collection (from all these "Greatest Hits" recordings), which is "Hollywood Sound".
