I never play individual tracks from THE WALL. Always the whole thing; from start to finish.

Well, you get a couple of songs on various live albums as well.

Finally!  We've been waiting on this one a good while.

Sidenote: I've always loved the album 20/20 and considered it the turnaround point after a fairly disappointing post-Smile '67-'68 (Friends and Wild Honey have high highs but are mostly just curios to me), and only recently discovered that the fan consensus seems to be that it's not as good as the albums around it.  Sure it's got a bunch of covers and is a bit of a mish-mash, but it's a really fun listen! The Dennis songs are pretty underrated, especially "Be With Me". But yes, obviously Sunflower and Surf's Up are the peak of post-Pet Sounds Beach Boys.

EDIT: found the tracklist on a cached site (since removed for some reason)

Yeah, the high points of 20/20 (‘Time To Get Alone’ is another great one) are really about as good as anything they’ve done, even if it’s more hit-or-miss than other releases. But that’s definitely the enigma of The Beach Boys. Who else would put the utterly sublime ‘The Warmth of the Sun’ back-to-back with a cheesy spoken-word skit filler track?

You may say that I have strange tastes, but I'll always respect pioneers.

Don Gibson is a pioneer... you may not know him... but I'm sure you know his songs.

Anybody do anything for Record Store Day yesterday?

I picked up the special coloured version of Noel’ Gallagher’s Best of.

I really like the production on this song.  Oh that actually good songs like would be Top 40 hits.

That view with both ladies standing right angled they adapted from ABBA. A little bit it might be in the music as well. Apart from that the look reminded me of the Indigo Girls. But the names I drop here might be a little bit too big for that little piece of music.

I don't like this song at all (even though I love the earlier work of Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66) but who knew?! And it sounds so effortlessly!

Gotta love Rick Beato (and his channel) though ...

Maybe a bit outdated because of the sound, but that was my first boxset. It was released a year after Roy's passing.

The Legendary Roy Orbison (1990).

For some reason, I never took the time to properly explore Ten Years After -- even if I know it's up my alley. But I got this solo album by TYA keyboardist Chick Churchill from 1973, featuring a starstudded cast of performers (obviously, the Supertramp connection -- Rick plays drums and Roger guitars and bass -- was what got me to get it in the first place). Great, dreamy blues prog.

Recently gave Roger Daltrey and Wilko Johnson's 2014 collab album 'Going Back Home' a go ... good stuff if you're in the mood for some rockin' R 'n' B (as in what that used to mean, not its dispiriting more recent use to describe programmed autotuned robot farts). At 35 minutes, it's a pretty short 'n' sharp listen.

I would melt if he played that, the best song on Aja!

Funny you should say that, Stu. The title track used to be my favourite track on AJA, but, over the years, HOME AT LAST has taken on a new meaning, for me.

I'd melt if they played BABYLON SISTERS...my fave Dan song ever.

Nothing great really but I like his voice. While post-Waters PF annoys me, this one I can listen to. There's melancholy in this album, just like in his voice.

Love both this and BROKEN CHINA (the Zee IDENTITY album less so). A kind of "pointed" version of the very Wright-ian interludes on the PF albums.

Yes, @Thor. I agree: BROKEN CHINA is a good record.

Wright's voice has a soft, smokey, plaintive, quality. It's the sound of someone who's been around a bit, and who could tell you a few stories about himself. It's a quietly persuasive voice that beckons you into a nice quiet corner of a cosy, log-fire pub, and tells you tales, while you listen, single malt whisky in hand.

Absolutely ridiculous. Guy clearly wants royalties but thinks his case isn't strong enough on its own (and the Nevermind tattoo on his chest and his recreations of the cover for various anniversaries of the album certainly don't help it), so he's went for this crazy 'child porn' angle.

Or maybe he ran into a local Saul Goodman who sees an opportunity to strike it rich.

Agreed.

As it's his image on the cover, it could be argued that he is entitled to royalties. Just how much, and for how long, is between both parties' lawyers.

The original deal was set up by his parents, on his behalf, so he should speak to them.

Of course he couldn't give permission for his image to be used; he was too busy sucking at his mother's tit! As to pornography; JWfan will, I'm sure, be relieved to know that I see nothing sexual in that cover, but I realize that that doesn't stop other people seeing something erotic, and unhealthy.

Of course, he has to prove that the cover is pornographic, and that his patents exploited him.

Good luck, with that.

This is happening after all! Just delayed.

"Previously unreleased Get Back album (1969 mix by Glyn Johns)" sounds intriguing. Not an expert on the subject, how different would that be from Let It Be Naked?

I have no idea, but I can't to eait to find out :)

You might want to check out Glyn Johns' work with other artists, especially The Who, to get an idea. Of course, whatever you hear won't have as much polish as this release.

This year's U2 fanclub subscription renewal gift - facemask, postcard set, and most importantly a double live CD of their one-off 2018 gig at Harlem's legendary Apollo Theatre in a rather nice photobook thingy.
