Melange 446
Four Weddings and a Funeral has beaten off stiff competition to be named the best British movie of all time.Second, Monty Python's Life of Brian.Third was Trainspotting with 15 per cent of the vote.Casino Royale, starring Daniel Craig as James Bond, made it into fourth placeLock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels came fifth with 8 per cent. The Infidel Poll ResultsSigh Melange - Wandering which set of fools they asked in this poll. Look, 4 weddings is a fun popcorn movie. Life of Brian is a hoot. One of my favs But by no means are either worthy of being near the TOP British movies of ALL time. Melange P.S : One day there may be an intelligent poll made regarding movies...................I don't hold my breath
Morlock 11
I'm not a fan of British film polls. This is an excellent example of why that is. Morlock- who likes all five of those movies, but still. They couldn't even re-start the argument of US/UK possession on The Third Man (which is cleary a British film)!
Mr. Breathmask 555
Film polls, especially the British polls are complete rubbish. The worst results come from polls held in the UK.Also, a film coming out on top doesn't mean it's the best. It simply means it's at number 1 of the largest amount of people's favourites list... Melange 446
Film polls, especially the British polls are complete rubbish.Every time they come it simply makes it 'appear' as if we British people have no perception of anything ever existing prior to movies before the mid 1970s. And I'm sure there are a massive amount of people for whom that is precisely the case. It seem to begin with movies from their own childhood and goes forward in date from there. But there are also a lot of people who know quality movies that were not in the mainsteam or were made long before the 1970s. Unfortunately those kind of people don't see those polls taking place or their choices are just swamped out of existence by the ones in people's recent memory. I don't mind people particularly making those choice above, but the 'ALL time' tag is simply childish, absurd, and rather offensive to British film history. Where the hell is Lawrence of Arabia, for a start? Yes I realize a lot of people have never seen the movie because they wouldn't be interested in it probably, put off by both the subject and the long running time. I'm afraid this is the result of the short attention span transient pop culture. People say 'all time' when they really mean their most recent memory.Melange - Taking this too seriously. It was probably just another stupid 'Lad Mag' poll result.

Quintus 5,399
The outcome of this poll is rubbish, everyone knows that the best British film is Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Morlock 11
except its not british, its American.the best british movie is Day of the TriffidsAre you being serious? I've never seen the film, but a sci-fi movie with Howard Keel doesn't sound like best British film material. I've been wrong before, though.but it is at least a good film, and I have the soundtrack Of Four Wedding? I don't recall the soundtrack. But it is quite a nice comedy. Quintus 5,399
I like Snatch more than Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels.I too like snatch, but I'm not a fan of any Guy Ritchie movies. 'Mockney' films like his try far too hard to be cool, and it shows.

robthehand 3
These polls are always stupid, even moreso it seems when they're done in Britain. The "best film scores" one was an embarrasment to humanity.More interesting would be, what's the most British film of all time?
