I made a playlist on my computer with one track of each score I've got, so by using the random play option, I'll be able to post a truly random score each time. Hopefully this will allow us to discuss some scores that would otherwise never be discussed. Also we can record the rating so that we can create a full list of the ratings given to scores by JWFan.com.To accompany these polls, I am using the results to calculate average ratings for the scores as well as average ratings of the composers. I will post these ratings on my Soundtrack Ratings by JWFan.com page. This thread is meant for discussion of how the ratings compare and what surprises you notice.I have just updated the page with the latest scores that have been polled and added some calculations for the composers' average ratings.Nicholas Hooper is rating surprisingly high and I think Alan Silvestri should be higher up the scale. I am most familiar with action/adventure scores myself, so I'll be posting those most frequently. Some help in posting non-action/adventure scores every now and then would be welcome. indy4 152 Posted July 23, 2008 Share Posted July 23, 2008 This is just a suggestion, but perhaps from now on with each thread you make about a film score, you could make an additional poll (within the same thread, of course) for the rating of the film. It's hard enough to make up my mind on how to rate a score, but now when I've done that, I still can't vote because I first have to decide how to rate the movie. Let them drop out of the first page and then make new ones. It makes life easier on you, it doesn't irritate everyone else, and follows the less is more rule.
