Pieter Boelen 633
Every few days I will post a thread on a random score from my collection that we can discuss and rate. I made a playlist on my computer with one track of each score I've got, so by using the random play option, I'll be able to post a truly random score each time. Hopefully this will allow us to discuss some scores that would otherwise never be discussed. Also we can record the rating so that we can create a full list of the ratings given to scores by JWFan.com.As requested, this time finally another score by our favourite composer and a non-action/adventure one at that. And since it's being discussed right now anyway, why not...? Today's score is Nixon by John Williams. Are you familiar with it? What do you like about it? What don't you like about it? How do do you think it works in the film? What are your favourite tracks? So far JWFan has rated:See Soundtrack Ratings by JWFan.com.This web page contains the ratings from all my previous polls as well as those of Blumenkohl's.Final ratings are converted to a 1-10 rating for both rating systems so that they can be compared. Pieter Boelen 633
Hey, this isn't random!True. I'm trying to be somewhat random, yet still cater to the requests of the people. Anyway, I'll be PROPERLY random next time.
Koray Savas 2,095
3.5The first track is amazing, and the score is excellent. I guess for the sake of a proper rating I should give it a higher number, but it isn't as great as many other JW scores.
Joe Brausam 203
4.5 from me, I love it all!
Pieter Boelen 633
The first track really is great, but I'm hardly familiar with any of the rest of it. Sometimes I hear some of the tracks when playing all my music on random and it does sound pretty good. But for now I'll go with the "not familiar" option. Red 73
3.5It's very good, and a big precursor to Williams' current sound.
Marian Schedenig 5,520
Tempted to give it 4 stars, but I haven't listened to it for too long. Some very good stuff in there, particularly Meeting With Mao; overall far more involving in my opinion than Williams latest "serious" works. King Mark 2,924
It's one of those mid 90's Williams scores that have a few amazing tracks (like the Turbulent Years and The Miami Convention) ,but there is a lot a lot of murky underscore that is not all that interesting to listen to . 3.5 stars
