As I said I don' think it's Williams music

why is there 2 threads?

Because it wouldn't be JWFAN if we didn't have multiple threads on subjects.

I wish you would give a source, and a source besides "me"...

21 pages of original handwritten conductor's score for reel 12 part 2 of John Williams' Jurassic Park, entitled "Hungry Raptor," orchestrated by John Neufeld and Conrad Pope. Comes right between "High Wire Stunts" and "Into the Kitchen" (aka "The Raptor Attack" on the OST). If you edit the music heard in the hunting scene so that it fades in right after the music in the credits of the featurette, they line up perfectly, exactly as the sheet music is written. Moreover, the resulting edit matches up with the action on the screen in terms of timing and overall feel. I don't have a publicly available source to cite, so if you choose not to believe me, I don't blame ya. But I'm convinced.

And the music we hear as the end credits of "Making of" roll IS actually the music entitled "Hungry Raptor"?

OK, then I believe ya. :)

Yep! =) It matches what we hear in those credits perfectly. I'm thinking I might put together a mockup in Finale so we can hear the full cue as it was written, but I've got my hands full engraving "To the Island" (the first of three cues that constitute the OST's "Journey to the Island") at the moment.

Hmmm, I wonder now why that cue was not used.

Instead, we have different music there, right? I don't rememeber ANY action scene in JP unscored, except for the first T-Rex attack on the main road...

That scene was tracked with...urgh, which one was that? Part of the end of "Preparing to Meet the Monster," I believe. (That's the last two-thirds of "Eye to Eye.")

As to why it wasn't used...I dunno, but it does sound just a little bit silly to me, so perhaps it just didn't convey the sense of genuine danger they were looking for. ::shrug::

 Yeah, it does sound a bit like On the Conveyor Belt...

It fits MOST of the scene. It does not fit after the raptor lands on the walkway and ellie turns the corner.

After that cut there is about 6 seconds cut of the raptor climbing the stairs and on ellie's heels. If you read the original script, you can see what I'm talking about.

Then if you bring it back in at the shot of ellie going up the stairs, closing the door, it'll fit.

The finale to "Hungry Raptor" is also not used.

You do hear in this "Making of" Featurette the complete cue of "The Entrance of Mr. Hammond [2m1]" however.

The complete "T-rex Chase" is not used in the film. About 6 seconds are cut for when Malcolm jokes about it being on the tour, and the strings chord ending is cut as well since the music is brought in earlier than it was suppose to.

None of the rest of this music your asking about is Williams and none of it was for the film. It was probably just music they had sitting around that was now out of copyright that they could just pluck and sit into the program to fill in the holes. I've never managed to figure out what it is and I don't think it's in the credits.

If it helps at all or if anyone is interested, for Jurassic Park Legacy, I'm gearing up to start doing a pod cast on the score to Jurassic Park which is why it was kinda ironic when I saw this.

I just finished a complete score edit where I used the conductors score to create synth representations of the missing music or to help the dvd rip sound better.

I'll post my findings sometime if anyone is interested, but keep an eye out on youtube, I'm gonna be posting (if they don't try to bogusly take it down) there

Latter pod casts will be about the other two films, but lacking as much information as I have from Jurassic Park, they may not be as exciting or interesting.
