Nick Parker 3,017
I would like a simple, functional 88-key digital piano (Yamaha refers to them as "contemporary digital pianos"). However, it seems that even the oldest models cost $1,000,000,000,000,000 ( I do not even know how much American currency that is). Could someone recommend a store of some sort that sells them for a VERY low price?

Marian Schedenig 5,520
Not much of a solution, but there are two categories of digital pianos: Those that are (nearly) only pianos, and those that have tons of rhythms and other instrument samples. The first category is generally considerably cheaper. And on my old multi-instrument piano, I hardly use anything but the piano function anyway. Nick Parker 3,017
Yes, yes, that is the one I wish to obtain. I simply want a digital piano (preferably portable) with eighty-eight keys, with good feel and sound.
Eric_JWFAN 11
http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?s...p=32%26fsoo%3D2The first one that comes up in this search (ypg-635) I just bought a couple months ago, and it is quite good for the price. Very good weighted action and while the piano sample is not going to rival one of those 10 gig virtual software synths, it's still about as good as you'll find in an 88-key keyboard for under a grand. Henry B 49
This one seems like a good bet.
Nick Parker 3,017
It would be, but even that is beyond our family's budget: we cannot even purchase Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas when it was released yesterday.
Henry B 49
Uh... Not sure where you're going to find a digital piano for under $20 then.

ChuckM 1
This is what I have. It doesn't have 88 keys, hammer action, or anything fancy like that, but it works well, and is pretty cheap (comparatively). And I got mine brand new on eBay for about half what it costs from their website.
Wesker 0
Garage sales. And I'm serious. There are some pretty good deals and decent boards if you bring them down low enough.
ymenard 35
Midi controllers can be a cheap alternative, but they are often cheap as the name implied. My edirol is useless now, some keys don't work, others are stuck at various # of velocity or skip them. That's the problem with digital keys, once a key become different from the others it REALLY makes for a bad experience
