I want to eat cake. Since this is not just a spur of the moment but a general state of living, I don't need to want to have cake, because as long as I can get it when I want to eat it (i.e. anytime), I'm fine.

I'd rather eat pie but I do enjoy cakes from time to time.

Sometimes it's nice to want cake and not eat it.

I agree with the former and am slighlty confused by the latter.

After I did some research on the phrase, it's more accurately paraphrased as "you can't eat your cake and still have it," to say that basically once you buy the cake and eat it, you don't have it anymore.

What good is the cake without a glass of milk?

And after seeing American Pie, I can never eat pie again.

Finally, I don't understand the dry cereal as a snack thing. It makes sense in if you do something to it (e.g. Chex Mix) or your 2 years old, but again...where's the milk!? Milk I say!

I love mine with plenty cream on top.

Hitch, I'd like to direct you to a tv show called Mad Men. You might find something there to your liking.

I'd love to but the show's not sponsored by Lamarie anymore.
