Sneaky cat coming closer while not moving

This might belong in the YouTube thread, which I'm too lazy to read, but I think that's more for "serious" videos.

Watch this one first

Scary enough. But then, watch this for the Williams relation.

That is really funny and cute. I liked the first version. It seems to build tension better without music.

Yes, the original is funny, cute and scary. But then I came across the Williams version and had to laugh out loudly. But I think the original is probably better. If Jerry started doing that, I probably couldn't sleep anymore.

I tried using the code they give to embed the video, but it's not working.

I can hardly ever watch those videos; it works best when they are embedded in a message (as is the case on blogs); otherwise, YouTube always asks for the new FlashPlayer, which is pointless still I have it; I have read that countless people have this problem.

Can anyone find a way to embed the video in here, please? I'd love to see it.

From my experiences, people who don't like cats say it's because they're mean. A completely untrue statement. I like cats because they can take care of themselves. You feed them, give them a house, and that's pretty much all they need.

I once had a cat that, if you bent over to pick up something, he would jump on your back and sit there.

I'm definitely a dog lover and would have one if I wasn't out of the house all day. Maybe in the future though.

The reason I'm not keen on cats is because they are not loyal and they care not for their owner. A cat will show limited affection to whoever will feed it and keep it warm, but if that was to stop, the cat would seek the same needs elsewhere. A dog however will lay down next to it's dead owner.

I don't hate cats, but I don't love 'em either.

Don't Blink. Blink and you're dead. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't Blink. Good Luck.

The similarity was quite striking!

That's what it reminded me of, moreso than a ninja. Thanks!

I'm a bit ashamed I didn't think of it until I saw Drax's post.

Cats are loyal and smart. If you treat them badly, they won't forget. Kick a dog and the next day they'll love you to death again. And that thing about you not being able to kick a cat, yeah, they're damn fast. You can chase a cat all you want, but you'll never catch it. Pull out some catnip and they'll come running over.

Cats do get attached, Quint. I have one cat that follows me around wherever I go in the house. If I'm sitting watching TV, she'll be there. If I get up for 2 seconds to go to the bathroom, she'll get up and follow me. And when I'm gone and am walking back towards my house, I see her waiting in the window. It's not just about survival needs for them.

It's not that I don't like cats, in fact that's pretty way off. It's just that I like dogs a whole lot more.

I agree.

I've never seen a cat that has the same personality a dog does.

Cats do have personalities. For a months my daughter was trying to keep a collar on our cat but he keeps taking it off.

One night he took it off, walked into her room, laid it on the bed in front of her and turned around and walked out the door.

Plus another positive thing about cats is that they don't hound you for food while you are eating. Dogs will sit there and stare at you while you are eating or come running in the kitchen if you are getting a something to eat. They act as if you never feed them.

Cats normally don't do that, although our cat will wait until after you finish eating and then come looking for leftovers, which is quite amusing. You'll see him peak his head over the corner of the table, then he will disappear and moments later a paw will come over the table and try to grab something off your plate.

Dogs can't help they have just too good noses. Every little smell of food is tempting for them.

I love dogs and cats both, and I don't think arguments about one versus the other really go anywhere (as a certain half-giant once said, "people can be a bit stupid abou' their pets"), but I do feel more strongly about dogs in general. I find it very moving how innately entwined they are with us, offering us so much fulfillment and support, from protecting families and homes, to acting as service dogs for people with special needs, to just being completely selfless and loyal. As I said though, cats and dogs are both great, and oftentimes better companions than people can be.

Yeah, a lot of people really suck as owners. It's so frustrating how many dogs are sentenced to lonely lives at shelters and oftentimes euthanasia just because their families were too stupid or lazy to train and socialize them.

A well trained dog will do it as well. You can train your dog all you want but when there's food they will be there.

Dogs crave/need attention more than cats and that can be annoying at times. Cats can find ways to amuse themselves, I find that dogs have more difficulty.

I disagree. It seems to me you are yet to see a well trained dog. In fact of all the dogs I've known, only one (an ex girlfriend's) behaved in the spoiled way you refer to.

However I do agree that cats keep themselves occupied much more naturally than dogs. That is because cats by their very nature are private, lone creatures. You never see two male cats running around together at night, ever.

All of our dogs are and have been trained. Even taken some to obedience school.

I'm not talking show dog training, I'm just referring to standard training any decent pet owner will give their pets.

Truthfully I prefer fish as pets but since I'm not the only voice in the house I must make due with what we have.

Honestly, I have no pet dog at the moment, but that is not the norm. Nearly every single dog I've ever had to pleasure to be around over the years has been obediently well behaved where food was concerned. With firm training, a dog will NEVER stare at food or show interest when around the stuff - when it knows it isn't for them. I'm just speaking from personal experience, that's all.
