The budget could afford real vocals for the whole score, but it was a creative decision made by Horner to use synths.2. ONly the song is that Canadian evil woman's contribution, the real vocals you hear in some of the score tracks are by Irish vocalist Sissel.3. For Previn, this is what composers call: using a theme.
