Okay the season's over and South Park regains it's standing as hands down superior to family guy and the needs to die simpsons.

Family Guy was never as funny as South Park. The Simpsons has been dead for years now. They've ruined its legacy by running it into the ground.

Quoted for truth. I've had very, very short stints watching both Simpsons and Family Guy, I quickly tired of both. But I'm always coming back to South Park. This last run was great.

I'll never get tired of Family Guy, but I've stopped trying to follow its ever-changing time slot. Haven't seen the past couple of seasons. When it's all said and done I'll buy the complete box set. The way they split seasons over multiple volumes is just a way to get you to pay double for nothing.

Family Guys timeslot has never changed once since it returned from cancellation. Its been on Sundays at 9 the entire time

I haven't watched a new Family Guy for ages. I don't think it's jumped the shark, but somehow the stories just seemed less interesting, or they focused on a character outside the family.

The Simpsons needs to crawl into a hole somewhere and accept retirement. I watched one of the newer episodes recently and didn't laugh once - they just don't have any normal ideas any more, and they seem to just be spoofing movie titles with most of their recent episodes.

yes, it's great that a show that did jump the shark as people say found it's way back.

I just learned that the next season of South Park won't start until September!

Since 2004, they have been doing 14 episodes of South Park a year - 7 airing in the spring and 7 airing in the fall - But starting this year, through at least season 20 in 2016 - they will only air 10 episodes a year, in one batch beginning in September. This year's new season starts September 25th.

Gonna be a long wait!

South Park 17x01 Let Go, Let Gov

Meh. Started out strong, Butters going door to door and founding his own religion was great, as well as Cartman's tour of the NSA and everyone confessing at the DMV. But then it just went nowhere, the whole second half of the episode was really directionless. Bill Hader as Alec Baldwin was funny, as was all the Shitter comments (sheets?), and Santa being the source of the NSA's information.

So not a super strong episode but not a sign the show has rapidly declined either. Still look forward to next week's new episode.

The laugh out loud moment was Butters confessing to activities with a cutout of Jennifer Lawrence. But leading up to that moment, I really wanted to turn the episode off. The downfall of the DMV religion was ironically funny. Otherwise it was a mundane episode.

South Park 17x02 Informative Murder Porn

Overall better than the season premiere. Randy is always a guaranteed laugh. I also liked Cartman's booing of Wendy. Pretty clever the way they had the kids be feared for what their parents were watching :)

Well, I never got around to talking about the other 8 episodes of the season did I? Oh well.

World War Zimmerman was really funny, with Cartman running around like Brad Pitt and all the Zimmerman / Trevor Martin stuff

The Goth Kids episode was alright, they may have run that well dry

Taming Strange was great, Ike going through puberty and all the Canadian Ministry of Health stuff was funny

Ginger Cow was awesome, loved everything about it. Fantastic ending

I LOVED the Game of Thrones three parter! Whenever South Park does 3-episode stories they are always great, and this was no exception. Hopefully it was still funny to people who haven't seen GOT.

The season finale with the Kanye and Kim Kardashian stuff was great too :) Every time Kanye had to call Kim to remind him how she wasn't a Hobbit was funny.

I liked that one too. Kanye is so ripe to be parodied. He's the most overrated male talent in history. I loved that they also made mention of the most overrated female talent in beyonce knowles. And as much as I like to make fun of all things hobbit, hobbits are no where near as ugly as Kim, and unlike Kim they are not skanky.

Well, you don't like rap at all, so your opinion is meaningless.

He's definitely good, at least his older albums.

Even if you consider that rap, by its very nature is about boasting, Kanye still comes of as a self obsessed twat.

If the president of the USA calls you a jack-ass its pretty bad.

Ice-T getting slammed by Bush Sr because of Cop Killer gave him street cred.

Kanye being called a jack ass by Obama in between recordings on a TV show means no one takes him seriously.

Rap became a parody of itself quite a while ago.

Kanye likes fish sticks he likes them in his mouf. He's a gay fish.

He's shit, but did manage a couple of base-catchy pop songs earlier in his career. Someone like Eminem or Snoop rap rings around Kanye's over-produced glossy shite for bling lusting chavs and wannabes. The pond life of the world.

South Park 18x01 Go Fund Yourself

Sure, South Park may be past it's peak of unbelievable greatness it had for years, but the twilight years we are in now are still better than most comedies on TV. The 18th show returns with an episode that makes you feel like they never left, which I suppose is what every season premiere has been like for a while. I enjoyed the digging into kickstarter stuff here, and the Washington Redskins name controversy. Good to have you back, South Park!

South Park 18x02 Guten Free Ebola

I loved how the episode started off as a direct continuation of the last, South Park rarely does that unless it's one of their epic 2 or 3 parters. Would be cool if all 10 episodes this season do that. I liked their dig of the gluten free craze, especially when Randy was quarantined in a Papa Johns

South Park 18x03 The Cissy

ROTFLMAO That was hilarious. I love that they are keeping the continuity going - This episode had multiple callbacks to bits from the first 2 episodes this season! The biggest of course being Randy Marsh as Lorde, which was really funny. Better than the A story of Cartman wanting his own bathroom, though when the two stories colliding with Randy telling Stan how he is Lorde, that entire sene was comedy gold.

South Park 18x04 Handicar

Funny stuff, not only the whole idea of Timmy using his wheelchair tugging a wagon in an Uber-like service as a way to raise money for summer camp, but also the return of those Looney Tunes-esque characters who try to on-up him. The whole Wacky Races sequence was great. Not a lot of continuity stuff this week!

Looks like tonight's will be about drones

South Park 18x05 The Magic Bush

This was great. Only South Park could combine satire of drones, Ferguson, The Fappening, scary movies and probably something else I'm forgetting into a coherent story. Butter's dad going crazy was funny, as was Cartman's continuing ways of fixing things, everything with the drones, all the jokes about Clyde's mom's bush, etc. Only a small continuity nod this week, with the Cissy bathroom door.

South Park 18x06 Freemium Isn't Free

This was great. Loved the topic, the parallels with gambling, Randy's new gluten free beer and wine binging, and the return of not only the Canadians but Satan as well. Good stuff all around.

South Park 18x07 Grounded Vindaloop

What a weird episode. It was actually confusing for parts of it, but it did all pay off at the end with a very nice final shot. A rare episode that didn't try to combine a bunch of different things together, was basically just about occulus rift and VR the whole time. The season-long continuity is apparently over, I didn't pick up on any nods to anything from this season at all. Will we ever find out why Butters burned down the gym this season?

Weird, indeed, but also my favorite episode in years. I can't remember the last time I laughed that hard at South Park.

South Park 18x09 #Rehash

Alright I guess. Seemed like they had a bunch of great ideas then didn't know how to really portray them. Luckily the 2 or 3 part episodes of the past 5-10 years, so many next week will bring it all together. I wonder if we'll finally find out what Butters and burning down the gym was all about, since next week is the last episode of the season?

South Park 18x10 #HappyHolograms

Well I thought this was pretty good. I enjoyed the way it tied together just about every episode from the seeing, with Cartman and his CIS bathroom, the gluten free stuff, the Redskins stuff, the Indian Customer Service rep, the Canadian Freemium stuff, etc. Though, no explanation of Butters burning the gym down - WTF? The episode was a bit disjointed, but I think that was the point.

The best part was clearly Bill Cosby singing "Baby it's cold outside" to Taylor Swift... funny stuff!

And now we're 10 months away from new episodes again!

I thought the second part of the 2 parter was better than the first.

What are your thoughts on the season as a whole?

It was an outstanding season overall. But the show seems to have found itself again.

Cartmanbra and Cutie Pie should each be shot. The world will be better.

Yea I hope neither of those ever returns.

I agree it was a fine season overall.

I wish they'd go back to 14 episodes a year instead of 10.

I'm really surprised they didn't do Michael Brown.

14 episodes would be great but it might harm quality.

They didn't do a themed episode. They referenced a lot going back to MJ. Still one of the best.

After but yes. SP references a lot in that final episode. But I suppose a solely themed Michael Brown episode was too soon and they did a George Zimmermann ep.

South Park 19x01 Stunning and Brave

Another fall, another South Park season. I miss the days when they had 2 blocks a year, and could more quickly have an episode about a current event / social trend. But I also enjoyed last seasons near-consecutive streak of epiosodes with continuity that referred to each other instead of all being self contained. So I wasn't sure what to expect with the season premiere. In the end, it was your fairly average South Park episode, which means its still better than most of the comedies I see commercials for or watch a minute or two of flipping channels in horror.

The new principal was funny, as was all his frat-like dude-bros. Randy steals the show as always, and the digs at people's reactions to Caitlin Jenner were funny, as well as all the digs at Tom Brady including the final one. Cartman's dream sequence was pretty funny. Glad the show is back.
