The prequel to The Sopranos ...

Finally watched this.  Kinda clever to start with James Gandolfini narration.  Vera Farmiga is always great.  Michael Gandolfini does some great Tony Soprano impersonations at times.  Ray Liotta fits right into this world.

We'll watch it.  I'm not super pumped or anything though

Andrew Dominik's Marilyn Monroe biopic 'Blonde' (starring Ana de Armas) is too graphic and needs to change.

For her death scene, she'll be fully clothed.

Oh, dear; Sir Elton will have to rewrite his song

Here's an interesting article about how the studios might adjust theatrical releases in the coming months

It's an action comedy starring Ryan Reynolds, Gal Gadot, and Dwayne Johnson where Johnson is an Interpol agent hunting Reynolds and Gadot, who are competing thieves / con artists

This actually sounds like fun.

Kristen Stewart as Lady Diana is curious casting but count me intrigued. I'll definitely check it out.

She's a surprisingly good actress.  I think she got painted into a corner a bit after doing 5 Twilight movies, but she's got so, so much more range and talent than those movies let her use.

PHANTOM THREAD 2

Ah, that's where I know her from!

Really guys? I thought she was a lightweight actress but maybe that was because she was up against Daniel-Day Lewis.

Not a fan, her vaguely self-conscious style of acting always annoyed me. But very smart people assure me she's a good actress, so what do I know. For my part, from that generation I prefer Jennifer Lawrence.

That poster is striking, however. More like something you'd see on the cover of Bizarro-world glossy bride's magazine than a movie poster. Which I suppose is the point.

I'm not sure what you're referring to here. Kristen Stewart was not in The Phantom Thread.

Kristen Stewart was in Panic Room, Into The Wild, Clouds Of Sils Maria, Cafe Society, Personal Shopper, and Seberg.

I haven't seen Twilight, but from the half dozen or so films I've seen Stewart in (especially the Reichardt and Assayas ones) she appears to be a perfectly good actor. Pattinson even more so; like Christopher Abbott, he seems to have consistently sought out genuinely interesting projects to work on and, even though not all of these films have turned out to be great, I think it's made him one of the most notable actors of his generation.

Vicky Krieps and Lesley Manville are both awesome in Phantom Thread!

Teasers for Pablo Larraín's Spencer, whose excellent poster is above, and Jane Campion's The Power of the Dog, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Jesse Plemons and Kirsten Dunst, have dropped. Coincidentally, Jonny Greenwood scored both of these films. Much anticipated.

Seems like every big Q4 2021 flick is holding to their date and nothing else is gonna be pushed back again.  Here's a new trailer and poster for The King's Man

Spencer does indeed look like a lightweight Phantom Thread.

Campion's film has some really nice shots. Hope the whole film plays like that.

Aiming to catch both at TIFF, coming up in a few weeks, with in-person screenings again!

I agree with Jay here.

The SFX were really good so were the sets, costumes and make-up. The actors weren't bad they just didn't have anything very interesting to do.

Finally Daisy Ridley was perfect! (it has to be mentionned not to bring the anger of the Maestro)
