This teaser trailer played in front of Jurassic World 3 at the cinema last night and it generated quite the chuckle from the audience

Next to Nope the most unappealing trailer.

Got tickets to see Black Phone tomorrow night with my sister and nieces.

I dunno, the smiling faces are creepy, but I have doubts about everything else.

Reminds me of Dr. Sardonicus.

Why am I getting 'It Follows' vibes from this?!

Yep, the whole internet agrees with me.

This new murder mystery movie looks super fun!

It's got a Daniel Pemberton score too!

I predict based solely on the trailer that Saoirse Ronan will end up being the killer

I don't know if anybody here noticed, but she hasn't been in a movie since 2014

Great cast. The trailer is giving me some Wes Anderson vibes.

A little, I guess. Not nearly as pretentious (in all the best ways).

Theatrical Release Of Stephen King Pic ‘Salem’s Lot’ Moves From Post Labor Day To Spring 2023;

Quote

The start of the fall box office just got bleaker as Warner Bros is moving New Line’s adaptation of Stephen King vampire novel Salem’s Lot from Sept. 9 to April 21, 2023. I hear the move is due to Covid-related delays in the post production realm. The Gary Dauberman-directed pic also had a handful of days of additional photography six weeks ago.

So, there'll be basically 0 blockbuster movies between August and late October. Your wallet may celebrate!

I am currently reading Stephen King’s latest novel Billy Summers.

I had to get about halfway until I got into it - longer than it usually takes me for a King book - but now it’s an enjoyable read.

Even though not a “traditional” King story, I’m sure the series will find its fans.

July, August & September are all very quiet.

July: Only Nope left

August: Bullet Train & Three Thousand Years Of Longing

September: The Woman King

Besides these there is quite a lot of streaming show and movies.

July: The Gray Man on Netflic + Westworld & Only Murders In The Building continue.

August: The Sand Man, Prey, House Of The Dragon

September: She-Hulk

Then in October things pic up a bit with the release of Black Adam & The Rings of Power on streaming.

In November you have Black Panther, The Fabelmans & Creed III + The Crown & Andor.

And December we have Avatar, Shazam 2 & Puss In Boots.

It's a quit year for blockbusters if you look at it like this. I think next year will be more crowded.

Oh man this looks bad

Somehow it has become trendy to show more or less the complete plot of a movie already in the trailer. There are so many films I have skipped recently after seeing the trailer, because I thought, I might just have missed about 20% of it even though I just saw 2 minutes of it, and these missing 20% are probably not worth the time.

Wow Aubrey Plaza playing a Criminal.  That is a stretch.

What are you referring to exactly?

I've seen her in Parks and Rec, Funny People, Scott Pilgrim, Safety Not Guaranteed, The To Do List, LIfe AFter Beth, Ned Rile, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, The Little Hours, Ingrid Goes West, Black Bear, Happiest Season, and Legion and she wasn't a criminal in any of those

Does anybody care about a Munsters reboot?

My 8yo daughter is weirdly super into the original show, there was a period where she watched an episode every evening.  But I don't care if it's rated PG, I'm not showing her a Rob Zombie movie.

What does the director have to do with whether a PG rated movie is appropriate for an 8 year old or not?
