Wow. Bale pulling his "You're being unprofessional" line on God!

Don't know what to think of it. Could turn out great, but could end up being pretty bad too... Bale as Moses is an odd of casting for sure.

I don't think Joel Edgerton is a particularly Egyptian looking Ramses II either.

In front of Tusk the other day, I saw a bunch of trailers for upcoming movies, including some really cheesy looking horror ones. One was about an evil doll, and one was about an evil ouija board. I mean, really, Hollywood? Look at this shit:

Are people really going to go to these movies?

I didn't know about this film.

Has it been mentioned before here?

about the score (from an imdb reviewer):

You don't get any tears or moving feelings without the bravura score of Jóhann Jóhannsson. Criminally overlooked last year in the grand scheme of things for his work on Prisoners, the composer orchestrates his best score of his career. Very likely not just my favorite score of the year so far but one of mine in the last few years. From the opening credits, Jóhannsson puts his stamp with heavy violins and beautiful piano playing. In the end credits, you can sit and marvel as the names cross the screen with the music that accompanies it.

And here's the trailer and poster! Finally!

I don't normally watch trailers but after noticing someone say it looks funny I hit play and watched the first minute before switching it off. Don't want to spoil any more of the jokes. Trailers for comedies are particularly avoidable.

Not fancied a PTA movie for years, so this is good.

It's not really a comedy. More of an absurd psychodellic mix of genres. At least the book is like that.

I actually liked the Will Smith one, it just didn't have a good ending. But I thought he did a good job portraying the loneliness. Besides, the articles I've seen indicate that this is not really a reboot or remake as just a sequel that has nothing to do with the characters in the 2007 film.

The vibe I got from the trailer was off-beat comedy.

I actually liked the Will Smith one, it just didn't have a good ending.

The ending completely changed the meaning of the title, and not in a good way. The alternate ending isn't that much better.

I loved the first 15 minutes or so of the film, though. The oppressive atmosphere here is pitch-perfect. Then we meet the zombies and it turns into a dumb action flick with pretty cheap CGI.

Yes, story and the way it was told were typical of a Will Smith movie. In their eyes, the audience are morons. I think I gave it a 3/10.

The one with Heston is a cheese fest.

I didn't really have a problem with the ending. I had no expectations and walked away happily surprised by the portrayal of isolation.

Finally saw the Inherent Vice trailer. Looks good! Looks almost like a spiritual sequel to American Hustle

AMERICAN HUSTLE is better than any film PTA has ever directed.

Hustle was zany fun, but nothing more (or less) than that for me. A recent second viewing didn't change my impression that it's mostly nonsense.

Hustle was pretty disappointing, but still a good solid.

Inherent Vice looks like its sure superior.

I disagree big time. American Hustle was a Scorsese and PTA lite (It's obvious Russell looks up to them). I liked the music and Bale's performance ... but that's about it. In the end the movie is too shallow to leave any kind of imprint.
