This will be their 20th collaboration together! They haven't missed a single one since they started together on Romancing the Stone.
Edmilson 10,997 Posted June 22, 2024 Posted June 22, 2024 Jeff Nichols explains why he dropped out of the A Quiet Place sequel: https://www.thewrap.com/the-bikeriders-jeff-nichols-interview/ That's sad to me, the guy is an amazing director. Take Shelter, Mud, Midnight Special, Loving, they're all amazing movies. Take Shelter actually might be one of my favorite movies of all time.

tomsmoviemadness 4,434 Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 Nosferatu. New film from the Director of The Witch & The Northman. Starring Bill Skarsgaard, Lily-Rose Depp & Nicholas Hoult among others.
Romão 2,434 Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 That looks stunning. My must see movie of 2024 Naïve Old Fart 1
Tallguy 6,185 Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Wait. Wilem Dafoe is in a Nosferatu remake? Mind. Blown. (I've never seen the original. Was it THAT obviously a Dracula rip off as this? I know Stoker's widow did sue.)

tomsmoviemadness 4,434 Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Red One J.K. Simmons plays Santa. Also starring Dwayne Johnson & Chris Evans. Music by Henry Jackman
Edmilson 10,997 Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Looks like one of those poor quality mockbusters that usually appear on streaming once in a while and are forgotten in less than a week.
A24 4,924 Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 So on which upcoming movie are you putting your money on? Alien: Romulus?

As far as I know, they just changed the title because "Dracula" was protected by copyright. "Dracula" is in the public domain, there's no copyright on the book or the name. Though you're correct, most of the dozens of films about Dracula are (more or less) adaptations of the novel, not remakes (though the new Eggers film is a bit of both). Strictly speaking, they don't even need to be adaptions, anyone can use the name Dracula in any context in any genre in any medium.

But the look and tone of this seem to be so absolutely spot on...and it will be a perfect companion piece with the release of Young's score for the 1922 film

tomsmoviemadness 4,434 Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 Trailer for Zemickes' Here. The scope is much bigger than I thought based on the description from earlier.
Jay 43,905 Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 This new Audrey Plaza movie My Old Ass looks pretty good. I like coming of age movies

Nick1Ø66 7,218 Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 “The pilot’s a hit man”! I love it when one line in a trailer tells you all you need to know. That actually should have been the name of the movie.
Naïve Old Fart 12,154 Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 The trailer for CALIGULA looks stunning.
Edmilson 10,997 Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 Apparently Terrence Malick has finished editing his movie based on the life of Jesus Christ. He had been doing that since 2019. https://www.worldofreel.com/blog/2024/6/17/terrence-malicks-the-way-of-the-wind-is-finally-ready filmmusic 1

Not Zimmer this time though: it's already been confirmed that the composer will be Eleni Karaindrou, a female Greek composer who is best known for scoring the films of the Greek director Theo Angelopoulos. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eleni_Karaindrou Malick's movies usually have great scores, the kind of music that usually goes really well with his poetic images so I'm expecting something great. Hopefully this will premiere this year. Mr. Hooper 1

Jay 43,905 Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Rebooting a superhero for a second time in 5 years? After only one movie in the last reboot? Is this a new record?

There was that little Marvel film about a guy bitten by a radioactive spider. I guess that had 2 movies. I've only seen the very first Hellboy and I enjoyed it well enough. I'm just trying to figure out who it is that thinks that there is DEFINITELY money there if they just try ONE MORE TIME.
tomsmoviemadness 4,434 Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Also think Batman is pretty good at it. 2012 was Bale's last film. 4 years later was Affleck's first and in 2021 his last (Snyder's Justice League), with a year later Pattison stepped into the role. With Keaton returning one more time last year. And now we're probably gonna have Pattison's Batman and a new Batman in Gunn's DCU...

Is this a new record? I think there used to be a Jesus film every couple of years (or more often) during Hollywood's Golden Age. Just the other day I wondered if McKellen was still making films. Today he posted this: Apparently it's already running down under, and had a few limited festival showings in 2023, but Britain won't get it until September, and no other releases are listed on IMDb so far. Or 2 if you count Holland's appearance in Civil War. 4 hours ago, JNHFan2000 said: 2012 was Bale's last film. 4 years later was Affleck's first and in 2021 his last (Snyder's Justice League), with a year later Pattison stepped into the role. Affleck's last movie wasn't ZSJL but rather The Flash, where he appeared for quite a while before Barry time traveled. And that movie came out one year and three months after the last Bat-reboot. And it had both Keaton and Clooney. Actually I think it's hilarious that Batfleck warns Barry about the dangers of changing the past, only for him to be pretty much erased from the timeline when Barry does it anyway
Jay 43,905 Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 new John Cena action comedy, also reunites Awkwafina with Simu Liu
tomsmoviemadness 4,434 Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 Oh, that's the new Paul Feig film. Even though some of his films are not very good, I always enjoy them. And Theodore Shapiro's score for his films are also pretty great! If this one is a bit like Spy from 2015, I'll be happy
