Trailer for Richard Linklater's latest, Blue Moon

Jello wrestling.

OK, well, think about this. Afterwards, after the wrestling, what happens to the jelly? Because you could sell that. That is a missed opportunity. You could bottle it and sell it... You take the women out first, obviously.

Finally! A film worth watching.

It looks amusing, and Ethan is a fantastic actor, but the word "fast-paced" scares me. It's propably a fast-talking dialogue movie.

Wow. A real, adult movie from one of the most underrated directors. Linklater’s Before Trilogy is an all time favourite, and anyone who isn’t moved by those films has no heart. And has certainly never been in love.

Yeah, Hawke may be in line for an Oscar for this one. Must see.

Jesse Eisenberg not returning, Jeremy Strong frontrunner to replace him as Zuckerberg

Mikey Madison and Jeremy Allen White have been cast, but this idea already just seems DOA without Fincher or Eisenberg.

Tru, dat.

Without Fincher, Eisenberg, Garfield, and Cronenweth, it's a non-starter.

I enjoy those as well, obviously. Forever is the flashy top box office draw 1995 hyped up reboot sequel and Batman & Robin is a misunderstood campy 90s take on the old Batman TV show, which I also enjoy.

Thanks to Nolan's success we learned Batman needs to be gritty and realistic!

Are you saying that the '60s TV series is closer to what the creators had intended? Was Batman a jolly bat?

What was the comic depiction of Batman, in the 1960s?

Batman: Haha! Richard doesn't know how I was in the swinging '60s.

Robin: Really?

Perhaps the '60s telly show was merely copying - or emulating - the style of the comic in the '60s, in much the same way that BATMAN (1989) was influenced by "The Dark Knight Returns".

This is going to be awesome. And even better, we get a new BOOK in November.

Universal Pictures said Monday it is moving DreamWorks Animation’s Shrek 5 from December 23, 2026 to Wednesday, June 30, 2027. Essentially, the summer is better corridor for the mega return of the green fairy-tale ogre and friends; that’s the season he’s always dwelled in. It will rep 17 years since the previous Shrek movie, 2010’s Shrek Forever After.

In addition, Universal said today that an untitled Illumination event movie is going earlier in 2027, from June 30 to April 16. It takes the place of an untitled Universal event film that had been on the release date calendar.

She's directed a short film before, I never got around to watching it

It was originally part of New York, I Love You but didn't stay in the final cut

I wouldn't be so sure - the film wasn't particularly well received at Cannes. (Then again, Eddington went down pretty badly at Cannes but has had a much more enthusiastic response since its release.)

Yeah. I'm not convinced either. Great cast, full of talented, likeable actors. But this sort has that Hollywood star "take me seriously" vibe to it, which usually yields pretty mixed results. I also suspect this was part of some sort of production deal...ScarJo agrees to star in x blockbuster if they help finance her project. Doesn't mean it can't be good, it actually looks decent. Maybe at least a best actress nod.

It's Oscar ™ bait, but who cares?

I'll take one of these over twenty MCU/DCEU pieces of crap.

Speaking of deals... in 1992, an up-and-coming filmmaker called Steven Spielberg wanted to make a film about the Holocaust. Universal said: "Fine, but to get funding, you need to do this wee dinosaur flick, first."

That didn't turn out too bad :)
