It's a cosmic injustice that I paid to see Pearl Harbor in the cinema but I saw Midway (2019) at home.

My school sent the class in an excursion to see Kingdom of Heaven in theaters, which came out right as we were studying the Crusades. But no one paid attention to the movie and the kids all just chatted and screamed during the whole thing. 8 minutes ago, Tallguy said: I rather think a lot of people did. I did. And I hate that film. I first saw it at the cinema when I was 16. I don't remember what I thought about it back then, but I saw it again every once in a while over the years, and after considering a solid but unremarkable by the numbers Ron Howard production, I started appreciating it more. The actual story behind it is obviously gripping, and the mostly unassuming direction lets that shine through if you let it. Ed Harris's quietly commanding performance is gripping.
Edmilson 11,733 Posted August 21, 2025 Posted August 21, 2025 And James Horner's score is among his best.

tee_oh 47 Posted August 30, 2025 Posted August 30, 2025 Park Chan Wook's new film, No Other Choice, comes out September 24th in Korea. He's had this one in the works for 20 years and it's based on the 1997 novel "The Ax" by Donald E. Westlake. This is a teaser so it's not too spoiler heavy. Still, I stopped watching in the middle because I already know I'm going to see it opening night. Also just as excited for a new Jo Yeong Wook score as the film itself. If you're not familiar with his work check out the scores for The Handmaiden and Thirst. He's a Music Director/composer and works with a team of composers who usually don't get credit for the work. Similar to how the way people like Zimmer work I guess. Jay 1

Not gonna lie, the aesthetic of this announcement gave me nostalgic feelings for the days of the Super Nintendo. Doesn't mean the movie will be good though. In fact, considering how awful the latest Mortal Kombat movie, it probably will be as bad as that, if not worse.
