#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 11,882 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Yes it was. Cannon at that point in time, had the ambition, but not the money. Hopefully Tom Holkenborg's score will be on par with the Bill Conti one. filmmusic 1

#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 11,882 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Why the cynism? The Conti one is full of masculine Sturm und Drang. Which is something JunkieXL does very well.
Jill Sandwich 10,800 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Junkieee... if I kill him, I make him a martyr, a saint. Nooo... I want him broken.
BloodBoal 8,122 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Forget it, Drax. Stiff is just praising the drug addict because he is one of his fellow countrymen.
Jill Sandwich 10,800 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Good. Twice the national pride, double the fall. Xander Harris 1
Xander Harris 9,156 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I was going to say it feels like a 2010 era trash movie like Clash of the Titans and such.

Edmilson 11,700 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Clash of the Titans 2010 had a decent Ramin Djawadi score if you're into Zimmer/RCP manliness. It's more in the line of King Arthur, Transformers and other manly Jerry Bruckheimer scores, and since it was before the Lorne Balfe revolution, it's pretty enjoyable if you like that sort of music.
filmmusic 3,059 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Oh, I didn't know the star in the upcoming Masters of the Universe is half Greek! (My personal trainer told me) Well, I prefer Lundgren, anyway.. (by the way, the music that is heard in the video above is Greek bouzoukia, a style that I absolutely abhor in Greek music!)

Because here they know his political (and other) songs only. I'm not sure they even know he has composed any film music. I personally prefer Manos Hatzidakis, but still.. He has more songs, than music alone.. I'm not the song type.. Jurassic Shark 1

Xander Harris 9,156 Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Exactly a detail A.I. would have missed. I’m now convinced.
Sweeping Strings 3,270 Posted January 24 Posted January 24 20 hours ago, Romão said: It's just so hard to find the right tone to tackle this. The whole thing is so inherently silly. Every single character is named after their defining characteristic or gimmick, followed by an "or" suffix. You have a skull for a face? Your name is Skeletor. You're grizzly and furry? Your name is Grizzlor. You're covered in spikes? Your name is Spikor. You're an evil sorceress? Your name is Evil-Lyn. I have a fondness for this from my childhood, but precisely because the whole things is so blatantly silly and made to sell toys. It's really hard to take any of this seriously or care too much about its lore. Transformers did the 'TV series was just a glorified ad for the toys' thing too, if memory serves.
Jay 45,296 Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Yes. The toys were designed first and the show was made to help sell them
Xander Harris 9,156 Posted January 24 Posted January 24 It took 30+ years after the MOTU movie to get proper dolls from the movie. Almost my whole life.
filmmusic 3,059 Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Does anyone know if Michael (2026), will have an original score, and if yes, who's writing it? This film I want to see, since I was a big Michael Jackson fan in my childhood/teens. rough cut 1

filmmusic 3,059 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 I just learned that Brad Pitt is coming to Greece in the end of the month, for shooting for his next film, at the island of Hydra! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9148786/ The last Hollywood film that was shot there, was Boy on a Dolphin (1957). https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050208
tomsmoviemadness 4,687 Posted February 3 Posted February 3 New trailer for the Michael Jackson biopic. Thinking this could potentially be very big. Could it reach over a billion at the box office? I wouldn't rule it out.
