I think I'm going to watch it in B&W.

That's a show, not a movie.

So Anne Hathaway has.... 5? films coming out this year.  That's a lot for an a-lister to have in one year.

April 17 - Mother Mary

May 1 - The Devil Wears Prada 2

July 17 - The Odyssey

August 14 - The End of Oak Street

And now comes a trailer for Verity, coming October 2nd, and starring Hathaway with Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett.

If legal reasons are why they had to cut the scenes pertaining to the first set of allegations, then I'm really not sure how they'll go about addressing the elephant in the room without that crucial bit of info being present. Hell, nothing is really stopping the later accusers from also putting their foot down on their cases from being depicted, so any sequel just wouldn't have legs.

Then again, given how well the first film is doing rn in spite of being a very egregious example of biopic slop, it's entirely possible the audience just isn't going to care and watch anyway.

Michael 2: Electric Boogaloo

I’ve never been attracted to these modern Musician Cinematic Universe biopics. They did one about Whitney and all the while I thought, what’s the point of this when we already have The Bodyguard?

I don't really think they should do this sequel. Yes, money and box office records, but if they go any further they will have to talk about... The accusations. And I don't think there's a lot of people who would like to see a movie about that, even if the goal of the movie is to rehabilitate his image.

They already did the "best choice", at least commercially, by ending his movie before the first accusations hit... Let's quit while they're ahead.

The darker second act is when the hero is put through the trials, in this case diddling the children.

That might be too dark and disturbing for modern, sophisticated audiences who are scared of him seeming "pruhhblemahhtikkkk"

Not really. Unless there's some contractual agreement between the accusers (as there was with Jordan Chandler) and the Jackson estate, there's not much they can do. The accusers statements and lawsuits are a matter of public record. Anyone could make a movie out of the events even without Jackson's and his alleged victim's, including Chandler's, consent.

My guess is they'll find some way to address the issue without naming any accuser specifically, and certainly without making it the focus of the story. I'm sure they'd like to avoid mentioning the controversy at all, but given how it dominated the latter part of Jackson's life, you can't just ignore it.

Do the kids know who Weird Al is?

I recently saw a post from this guy who was playing Weird Al songs for his kids saying it was a "Weird A.I." who takes popular songs and makes joke versions of them

Headline checks out.

If only Jaws were released today, we'd get to see the Jaws Cinematic Universe (the JCU).
