Quintus 5,391
Which is your favourite scary cue? Which music from the movies gives you the shivers? Do you get frightened listening to anything by Hans Zimmer? The cue which I love to dread most is Night of the Beast from Poltergeist, though Night Visitor/No Complaints is a close second. The latter in particular is some real spooky sh*t.Jerry's ghostly strings orchestration is soooo effective at making the hairs on my neck stand up... MSM 85
The Mummy scene where the camera closes up to the freshly unearthed mummy and Goldsmith scores it with a rather terrifying orchestral blast.
Charlie Brigden 5
The film version of ALIEN's main title gives me the creeps. As does "Humanity (Part I)" from THE THING. Favourite is a hard one, but it'd probably go to a Goblin one. Either the main title from SUSPIRIA or "L'alba Dei Morti Viventi" from DAWN OF THE DEAD. Hitch 55
Apart from the obvious "The Murder" cue, I find "The Stairs" cue strangely eerie - Psycho (Bernard Herrmann)"Atmosphere Station" - Aliens (James Horner)

Nick Parker 3,017
Did you just take a bunch of random (so to speak) Danny Elfman cues and put them together? I cannot deem a quarter of those pieces scary. "Wedding Song"? I partially understand the beginning, but the songs becomes far too lyrical and lush for Halloween, if you get my meaning. "The Wedding Song," and a couple of others, are there more in association with the film than in actual stand alone Halloweeny-ness.

pixie_twinkle 44
10: Modest Mussorgsky - Pictures at an Exhibition (excerpts)Surely nothing else than The Gnome?I mixed together a creepy 7-minute suite including The Gnome (of course), Two Jews, Catacombes, and the middle section (andante mosso) from The Hut on Fowls' legs. It worked really well! The bizarre solo muted trumpet part in the middle of Two Jews is so perverse that it felt creepy!

Perhaps I'm wrong, but it seems to me that Horner's Aliens is the most mentioned score in this thread.
