I knew this wouldn't be political, because if it even hinted of mentioning a politician, we'd all be banned pre-emptively to stop us from engaging in an adult conversation.

I only visit Filmtracks if I can't find a certain logo online for a score while I'm doing custom back covers...other than that it's been a long time since I've even read anything from there. Clemmens sucks.

They're idiots. I remember them giving Iron Man a 0. Yeah it's okay if you don't like Ramin noodles but a 0? Come on!

Every once and awhile someone get's lucky and does a correct review.

Be reasonable Mark, Iron Man is not a flat-out 0 score. It at least fits in terms of the kind of person Tony Stark is. The movie is hardly about Iron Man, he's only in the suit for 2 scenes. I recall you saying there was no theme, but that's just it, there doesn't need to be one in this film. For the sequel though, I hope there is one, or at least an attempt on one.

Of course, this is where the psychological stuff comes into play. I may have posted that first statement to hide the fact that you were discreetly posting a political link under the guise of soundtrack reviews. However: that does not explain my most recent post. It could be a lie: would I be dumb enough to explicitly say my true thoughts ( do not answer this question)? Or, could it be a paradoxical post that states my thoughts by acknowledging them, yet contradicting them at the same time? Like the number of licks it may take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop, the world may never know....

Addendum: Of course, whatever the outcome was... this thread will probably be locked.

I like John Williams. He's a good composer.

...Edward Scissorhands, giving it 5 stars. Clemmensen also gives high marks -- 4 stars each -- to High Road to China, An American Tail: Fievel Goes West, and Backdraft. Check it out: http://filmtracks.com/

How dare you try to bring a small dose of reality to this forum? HOW DARE YOU!? Get back to your playpens, kiddies! Nothing's going on! Plug in your headphones and put on some Golden Age soundtracks! That's what life is about... don't you believe the lies you're being told about "politics" and "religion." I tell you, they don't exist!

I endorse Henry's sarcastic but important message.

I endorse that endorsement!

Chris, who, however, isn't sure whether putting a political statement on the main page of film music site is a good thing.

Well folks, we've officially been sold out by virtually every organization that produces some kind of news.

Not only did the media sell their soul for a good story or new leadership, but now we can't even read about music without a certain agenda being shoved down our throats.

Is nothing sacred anymore?

On top of that, I saw yesterday that Pink Floyd did some song for the Last Mimzy? My God, is EVERYONE selling out?

Clemmy thinks he's the next Bob Woodward. Or Filmtracks is just a CIA cover op for a more sinister agenda.

All that's different about this election is the Internet and the greater variety of news media (a trend that began in 2004, e.g. Howard Dean's online campaign). More people are getting their opinions out there. So Clemmenson has an agenda. He's just one man; it's not like he represents a major news outlet.

It was Roger Waters. And that did nothing to ruin his reputation in my eyes. Didn't like him before, don't like him now.

There's never been anything remotely sacred about Filmtracks. I think it's odd to imply that the site is some sort of bellwether for media virtue.

I'm sorry that you didn't understand what I was saying. I wasn't saying Filmtracks was sacred. I was saying that I can't even go to a music website without being inundated with an agenda. "Is nothing sacred?" is an expression in America that doesn't necessarily mean the subject IS sacred, but that it's ridiculous for this subject to conduct itself a certain way.
