I can't believe that some people on FSM think that the announcement is giving a clue - the announcements never have clues in them as far as I can remember.

(Just because it's fun to replicate the old thread)

Hopefully this time around Varese won't have anything I want.

I agree lol.

I know...people should know by now that Varesé has never given any clues.

How about Mancini's Santa Claus: The Movie? Long overdue and it would be well timed too!

If it's another Conti then Baby Boom would be quite welcome.

If it's North then obviously Spartacus would be great.

If it's Bernstein then Slipstream would be a perfect way to end this monumental year for film music fans.

And to reply to Hitch's now deleted post, yes I also hope there's some Jonathan Sheffer in their announcement too!

Somebody at one of the other forums suggested a desire to see a box set of all six Rocky scores. It may just be wishful thinking, but that would be awesome, even if for just the Conti scores. Now, if all six scores are available in complete or relatively complete form, then I retract this statement.

The Rocky scores as a whole get very repetitive, but if they were to release Rocky, Rocky II, Rocky III (I think there's only a few tracks not already in the first two, but they're good tracks), and Rocky Balboa, we'd be all set.

"Slipstream" is impossible, as FSM and Intrada have stated.

If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.

Some small company has the rights, and it's full of rude people who really don't give a poo. There's an FSM thread chronically attempts from labels to people to try to persuade them.

If my memory is correct it has quite a rousing theme.

But unfortunately, as mentioned, the rights reside with some company who has no interest in releasing it.

Yes, this is certainly a possibility, considering how they did the Karate Kid set (or both North and South sets, for that matter) ...

A day or so left, then we'll see. :o

It's a good little score to a good overlooked movie. Mark Hamill goes peroxide blonde. Ace!

looks like ROTS kenobi

They could use some of these other movies photos for the SW novel covers... just to change a little from the usual look...

The reply from them 'jump in a lake' is mentioned in the thread at FSM (here). If that actually was said in a real e-mail, sounds like a pretty horrible company actually. I've seen weird stuff in corporate e-mails, but nothing approaching that level of disinterest and general "go f**k yourself" atittude.

Question, and I don't care if this is or is not the place to ask...

Is there a soundtrack release to Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein? I love the haunting main title, reprised later by Igor on the violin, and it's certainly rippable from the DVD, but is anything else out there?

Ahh yes, of North there needs to be a release of unchained, the childrens hour, Willard, shanks, death of a salesman, good morning Vietnam and most importantly spartacus.

Looks like it came out in 1997 (One Way Records/MCA MCAD-22192), but I've no idea if it's still available anywhere. :P

That album was just excerpts from the movie, including dialogue. But the main title was on the Mel Brooks Movie Music LP, which sounds like it was used on the BluRay isolated music track.

It'd be awesome if we got an expanded release of Silvestri's Polar Express, but I doubt that'll happen.

Make that just a release. We got a suite, and about half a track of actual score on the OST. There's a promo, but that's still missing music; and this is just about the right time for a Christmas release.

I've heard murmurings from several people that Dante's Peak will be receiving expanded/complete treatment soon, and possibly Alive and Outbreak too. This batch? Who knows.

Here they are:

SILVER BULLET - Jay Chattaway

THE PRESIDENT'S LADY - Alfred Newman

REPORT TO THE COMMISSIONER - Elmer Bernstein

SHORT CIRCUIT - David Shire

I'll pass on these ones.

Short Circuit I'm getting for sure!

Edit: Obviously Hitch and I posted at the same time.

Well you can scratch 2 often requested scores off of people's lists. (Short Circuit & Silver Bullet).

I'd love to get the Bernstein and Newman scores but gotta start tightening the belt as far as spending goes.

But my quicker hands were faster on the draw

I'm hoping there'll be one more big release before Christmas like last year. Weren't Monsignor, Images, and Alien all announed in November/December?

Well, Intrada has 2 being announced on December 2, supposedly 5 on December 16. La-La Land supposedly has 4 in December, Lukas said FSM has more before the end of 08, Prometheus supposedly has some coming.....and Tribute said that Charge & Pauper should be out before the first of the year.

So, I'd say there's a fair amount...
