I don't necesseraly disagree, but Stepmom shouldn't really be considered an example of a bad score. It is stunningly beautiful at times. And nothing in Ben Hur aproaches the beauty of Days Between.

But this poll was clearly done with the intent of putting what he considers to be JW's lesser works against some of the most popular scores of all time. I just don't think it is a fair insinuation concerning Stepmom

Surely nobody can possibly think that Space Camp (a boring score with a couple of great themes) is better than Star Trek: The Motion Picture (an awesome score with numerous great themes), can they? Honestly...?

Obviously there is a lot to like (for some) in the score for Stepmom, but for me it will always be the ultimate snoozefest.

Oh and it is worse than The Empire Strikes Back. If it is inconsiderate to say such a thing, then well...

I'm not familiar with any of them for various reasons - Stepmom is mostly boring, my Morricone collection is westerns and more westerns, the Golden Age is a large weakness in my collection and I'm not interested in Star-anything or 'Johnny' Williams.

This poll just proves there is plenty of music out there that's better than JW's mediocre efforts. Old news.

(Morgan Freeman voice)

"I wish I could tell you that [TheListener] fought the good fight, and the ["jerks"] let him be. I wish I could tell you that - but [JWFan] is no fairy-tale world. He never said who did it, but we all knew. Things went on like that for awhile - [JWFan] life consists of routine, and then more routine."

You guys are bigger jerks than Zimmer fans.

So, let me get this straight -- you pop in, insinuate that we're all silly for talking about how we might like one Williams score more than we like a similar score by someone else, and then decide that we're jerks when we tell you to mind your own business...? Is that what's going on here?

If so, I guess I'm proud to be a jerk. (And, occasionally, a Zimmer fan.)

Are Zimmer fans jerks? :|

No. JWFans are all major assholes compared to the folks at the HZ Forum. They actually don't argue when you insult Zimmer, and they like other composers. It's something I've noticed. Fans of traditional music can't stand modern music, but fans of modern also love traditional. Makes no sense to me.

No. I'm one of the JWFans even if I like Zimmer. You guys changed me. I went over to the HZ Forum and made a witty comment and didn't get any arguments, but understanding. It was weird. I like the vigor of this place, keeps it interesting. Conversation over there is like "I love Hans Zimmer" and some other guy is like "No way I like him too!!!"

The fact that there is no question attached to this poll makes this stupid.

What is Chuck asking?

Which is better? Which do we like more? Which has more notes? ;)

Indeed. On what basis should we compare Williams' Stepmom to Miklos Rosza's Ben Hur? ;)

It's like comparing Peking Duck to Russian Caviar...but I love them both.
