Pieter Boelen 633
Every few days I will post a thread on a random score from my collection that we can discuss and rate. I made a playlist on my computer with one track of each score I've got, so by using the random play option, I'll be able to post a truly random score each time. Hopefully this will allow us to discuss some scores that would otherwise never be discussed. Also we can record the rating so that we can create a full list of the ratings given to scores by JWFan.com.Today's score is Lionheart by Jerry Goldsmith. Are you familiar with it? What do you like about it? What don't you like about it? How do do you think it works in the film? What are your favourite tracks? So far JWFan has rated:See Soundtrack Ratings by JWFan.com.This web page contains the ratings from all my previous polls as well as those of Blumenkohl's.Final ratings are converted to a 1-10 rating for both rating systems so that they can be compared. Ollie 859
I really like this score, I give it a 4.5, There have been 4 releases, Vares issued two CDs originally as Vol I & Vol II, then they combined both as the Epic Symphonic release, but it was still missing 4 or 5 cues from Vol II. And then they did a release only available on their Japanese label combines all the cues from both volumes. It's also available on itunes.I have The Epic Symphonic disc and Volume II. The performance sounds a little thin and if you didn't like the electronic horn from Timeline you probably won't like this one.A very rich thematic score for an awful movie. Marian Schedenig 5,520
And then they did a release only available on their Japanese label combines all the cues from both volumes. It's also available on itunes.I believe it's missing one or two (supposedly rather insignificant) tracks.I give it a 4. With a better orchestra and less synth brass, it'd be 4.5. The orchestra actually isn't really bad, it's not good, they sound like they're glad they're able to play this at all but are too close to their limits to play with some real excitement. I doubt if real brass would make much of a difference without a better orchestra.
Ollie 859
After combining the discs I have, I have 20 tracks but I have two versions of the last cue. The last 2 minutes are the same but they both begin differently.

Andy 1,492
A very rich thematic score for an awful movie.Isn't it amazing how many crapa$$ movies Jerry attached him name to?Really. With some exceptions, I have a hard time emotionally and financially investing in a score to a movie I (a) hate or (b) haven't seen. I love Goldsmith, but his body of work encompasses so many films I haven't a care for.

YOu're missing out on tens of great scores, I'm sure
Morlock 9
I love this score. Probably my favorite 80's adventure score (as in favorite score that sounds like it's from the 80's). Great themes, which get a healthy amount of work-out and variations. I generally listen to what is essentially the single CD release, with 2-3 tracks added on from the separate volumes (I own Vol. 2, could never find a decently priced Vol. 1). Pieter Boelen 633
I'll give it a 4,5. Pretty darn good, even despite the weird synths. I don't much like the love theme though; makes me think of "Cats".
