Quintus 5,391
Total Film MagazineGood list I think. Morricone is in there, as is Herrmann. JW too, just
Morlock 9
Wow. Good find- thanks! Imaginative list. I'm rather surprised at number. I've been warming to Total film recently, and this reinforces it.
Datameister 1,394
Wow. Nice to see they gave proper dues to orchestral scoring...
Quintus 5,391
Nah, we've had enough of those 'controversial' film score all time lists to last a lifetime. I was refreshed to find a list which for once includes ALL music found in film, since contemporary rock and pop etc has just as much a place in defining the medium as JW or JG ever did. Datameister 1,394
I wasn't bothered by the fact that the list contained songs - I just think they had their priorities a little mixed up, given that there were...what, three or four original at-least-partly-orchestral film score moments mentioned? Quintus 5,391
I can live with that.
Datameister 1,394
I mean, obviously I'm biased in favor of film scores, and my opinion certainly doesn't reflect popular leanings. But it seems to me like if they were going for the pop culture angle, first place should have gone to something else.

I'm not being funny Data, you're a good guy, but have you really missed the point of what pop culture actually refers to as much as it appears you have? I guess my brain hasn't fully booted up yet this morning. What I meant to say was that if they were going to be putting such emphasis on the more popular use of songs in the films, I'm not sure why they picked the winner they did. Quintus 5,391
I don't they did put more emphasis on songs. They just listed the music they like, songs or not.
Nick Parker 3,017
Wow, a list that (more or less) lines up with JWFan's opinions? Impressive.
