It's fantastic. I actually listened to it on my iPod on the top floors of the Bank of China building once...overlooking the Hong Kong cityscape. It was breathtaking.

And nor is it at all MVish. If anything it's "The Lion in Winterish" by John Barryish.

Pretty much everything on Furious Angels is close to if not fantastic, except maybe the drinking song. ;) I recommend it to you Quint. You get two disks, one with songs and one with instrumentals of the songs. I would actually vote for Rob Dougan to do the next Bond song, as some of his material gets very close to that territory.

But regardless, why do you care what anyone here thinks, Quint, you're smarter than that! Aside from 5 or 6 people round these parts, most people here have critical and analytical senses of Amazon.com and imdb.com reviewers.

Do people here honestly believe it sounds like MV music? Or is it just because you stuck that idea into their heads by mentioning it in the body of text that they would read before listening?

I think it's quite good. It's actually kind of epic, it has that mid-80s Horner feel to it, which I honestly like. Firefox gave me the file, I'll extract the audio at a later date.

I personally don't think it sounds anything like MV material, but then some here do tend to tar a lot of "other" stuff with the same brush ie; new and not traditional in style.

I too used firefox. I simply changed the extension, rather than extract.

Sold.

Because I'm a delicate soul who yearns for acceptance! Nah, honestly? I couldn't give a s*bleep*t what peeps here think of my musical taste; hence my eternal championing of the Zimmer so far (-his career permitting).

I simply found a track I liked and my first thought was to share it with my film score lovin' friends. Then I remembered that not all here are fans of film music; in its purist sense.

It needs more synths and percussion to feel Zimmer-ish. That louder section in the middle is kinda Zimmer meets Horner.

Now that's a bastard son if there was one

Not at all! They're both masters of adapting their own work to new films. They differ stylistically and technologically, but they're actually not all that different, if you really think about it.

I like that music a lot

its gd, but it reminds me of Doctor Who from Series Four at points.

Exactly what I thought! Sounds like the "Greatest Story Never Told" cue from "Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead" in some parts.

Anyway, I really liked it. Thanks blu.

Not really my cup of tea, I suppose, but it's not as if it's offensive to me or anything. It is indeed rather Horner-ish. I guess it just sounds like a lot of stuff I've heard before.

It gets better but the beginning with the orchestral hits was not very promising. It might work very well on an old James Bond movie. (it's too nice sounding for the revamped Bourne style)

Very stirring stuff. Oddly enough I can imagine it on some kind of wildlife documentary, such as Blue Planet. You know, a dramatic ariel shot of a killer whale leaping up out of the sea to copius amount of ocean spray. Or mighty flocks of birds migrating across the sea to another continent. Or another ariel shot (notice the theme here) of mountain men crossing a wilderness landscape with herds of wild animals like bison along side. But maybe that's just me. Is this for a computer game? If so, then my god how far things have come from the days of the music for games like

:)
