What movies are they from?

Classic Steef response!

So is there any way to access the enhanced portion of an SA-CD other than by using an actual SA-CD player?

No.

Cool news! Is "Escapades" comparable to the concert pieces on the soundtrack, or is it more of a different arrangement (besides the sax being more prominent, obvisouly)?

More or less. The three movements aren't exact copies of their respective tracks; the additions are pretty much just more sax solos and other little tweaks.

The first two movements are pretty much the same as heard in the OST album (Track 1 and 3, "Catch Me If You Can" and "Recollections"). The third movement is a bit different (called "The 'Float'" on the OST, track 2), the alto sax has a much more prominent role and there are quite a few very nice extensions, especially a more rousing and exihilarating coda.

I heard the suite played live in Chicago in November 2007, with JW conducting and Dan Higgins playing the sax solo. Definitely one of the highlights of that concert.

For those interested in only purchasing the JW contributions on this CD, it's now available for download on ClassicsOnline.

The price breakup is a little funky, but it's still a lot cheaper than $20.

Might get "Joy Ride" (The Float)

You should get the whole suite. It's a very good recording, very well played and recorded. Marsalis brings out a more jazzy edge to the piece, imho.
