The Quick Question Thread

There is no clean version of the Bilboa scene.

The complete pre-title sequence of DAD is available only on the bootleg, as is the swordfight scene.

The pretitle sequence from CR can be legally bought from iTunes if you live in the US.

It was also up for sale on Qobuz, but seems to no longer to offered there.

Does anyone know where I can find clean versions of:

The Bilbao scene from "TWINE" (love those brass hits!),

Nothing unreleased from The World Is Not Enough's score has ever leaked, unfortunately.  How I wish the DVD had gotten an iso score like TND!

The swordfight scene from "DAD" (my second fave Arnold track, ever),

The complete score to Die Another Day leaked ages ago, you can find it all over the internet.

Two or three unreleased tracks from TWINE popped up on Arnold site many years ago, compressed though.

Thats all the unreleased music from TWINE thats out there.

Weirdly, since all the others are pretty much complete

At least IMDB lists several Orff pieces for the film:

Musica Poetica
Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman

Passion
(uncredited)
by Carl Orff

Die grauen Weiber
[The grey hags] (uncredited)
by Carl Orff

Mariae Geburt
[The Birth of the Virgin Mary] (uncredited)
by Carl Orff

Anyone know what's the name of the haunting choral music that plays here? Sounds like it could be Orff, but I'm not really sure

It's Hexeneinmaleins from Carl Orff's Musica Poetica.

"The Departure Of Boba Fett" has been part of the OST since 1980. I see nothing wrong with it.

While we are on the subject...who actually names (or renames) the titles for OSTs, and does anyone know which track on "ROTS" (I think-it was one of the prequels, at least) was named by GL?

I have another QQ, this time about home cinema:

I have recently purchased a home cinema system (nice!).

One of the "set-up" instructions is for "speaker distance", and it comes with an illustration featuring the ideal seating position, and the ideal set-up for 5.1 system. The speaker distances can be adjusted from 1 foot, to 30 feet, individually.

My question is this: what the hell is it all for?! I have experimented with various speaker distances, and I can hear no discernible difference. Can anyone help, as the instruction manual does not give me much information about this?

Are the similarities between Hook's theme and the Rufio chant (Ruf i o!   Ruf i o!  Ruf i oooooo) intentional or coincidental?

Coincidental. Hook's theme was at one time planned as a song called Stick With Me, which coincides with the three note repeated opening phrase of the theme. Or so I deduce.

Ah, ok.

I have another question.  Is the "Hediwg Tries Coke" commercial (as heard on the recording sessions) available online anywhere?

I didn't have time to study the case... so I'll ask experts...

Is it possible to "exactly" reconstitute Home Alone 2 OST album with the LLL Expanded set?

No not exactly as some of the material on the LLL set is expanded and extended compared to the original soundtrack album. Plus if I remember correctly the OST album masters apparently ran at a wrong speed which was corrected on both the Varese and the LLL complete release.

Jay, is there a way to change the number of posts before a new page starts?  Some threads that are heavy with YouTube embeds like the classical music one are pretty much unopenable on the mobile site once they hit a certain point.

Individual users can change it on FSM, but not on this board.  Well, maybe on the really old versions, but not ipboard 3+ (not not within the last ~10 years or so)

It's John Adams

Richard, do you use Chrome as your browser?  If so, you can right-click on any image on any website and then choose "Search Google For Image" and you can usually figure out who is in a picture from the results

What do you mean?  It's a picture of John Adams talking to John Williams.
