What is the last Television series you watched?

Nothing I said is a spoiler. just as telling someone about Minority Report is a tale of man who has lost a child so is Patrick established as a character who has lost a child. Wait till you move ahead to the 3rd or 4th season episode Home. Perhaps the single most frightening episode of series television. It's much more frightening than films with similar stories.

That was the one with the nutso family, right?

The Peacock family, a proud family indeed.

ESPN produced some outstanding sports documentaries.

My person favorite was on tonight, The Best that Never Was.

It's the story of a young football player named Marcus Dupree from Philadelphia Mississippi. It's a tale of greatness that was never fully reached.

It's a wonderfully told story, candid and not always kind.

Marcus Dupree chose to attend the University of Oklahoma.

I have been to 200 plus college football games in my life, watched hundreds, perhaps more than a thousand more. I've seen countless number of great players, but I was asked to pick the best college running back I ever saw I wouldn't hesitate to chose Marcus. He was a man among boys and the ESPN 30 for 30 documentary is an excellent film of it's type. It is not for everyone but for those who enjoy a change of pace, this is definitely one of the best.

I'm really getting into The X-Files, and regretting that I gave it such a defiant cold shoulder during its run. And so far it's toeing the line between "monster of the week" standalone episodes and the vast conspiracy arc it's known for rather well.

I was a die-hard file-o-phile of the 1990s and grew up with this show. I envy you watching it for the first time because there's so much to explore. As you're in the middle of Season 2, which is the beginning of the show's golden years, I advise you take it slowly and let the episodes sink in one at a time. I couldn't bear to marathon it.

I don't think this is a spoiler, but I believe the quality of the show began to deteriorate somewhere in the sixth season. Although the MOTW eps were good until the very end, the mytharc became directionless, convoluted, farfetched and plain silly. At the point of Season 8 when Mulder is no longer a fulltime regular cast member, it becomes difficult to watch a show knowing it's on borrowed time. Rather like when Richard Dean Anderson left Stargate SG-1 after Season 8 and the remaining two seasons amounted to not much more than an appendix.

Watched the second season of The Legend of Korra. I really liked the first season. Enjoyed the more intimate setting and story line. It was a nice change from the 3 season arc of the original series.

The second season branches out and puts more on the line. The animation again was terrific, and the art direction for the two-episode story for the first Avatar was beautiful. I liked this even a bit more than the first season. It's still not quite up to Airbender levels, but I can't really expect it to. Some of the characters didn't work, like Korra's twin cousins, who were terrible (dialogue, voice acting).

The first season of Breaking Bad is, as expected, slightly disappointing on blu-ray. There is a lot of grain and you can really see the pilot season budget manifest itself in the quality of the design and lighting. The characters and writing still make it absolutely sublime to watch, but I expect the more expensive and directorially polished later seasons will be where it really impresses on the HD format. Because I remember well how stunningly shot it eventually becomes, as its cult gained momentum.

And they censored Hank's ****shit remark when he's on the phone to Marie! Gah... BULLSHIT!

Fingers crossed they loosen up on that shit in the other seasons.

Yes, I rewound it several times to make sure I wasn't hearing things. I was pretty bugged when I realised! From what I can gather online though it's not a problem later on.

Really?

Should i bother with it? If it doesn't start out that impressively?

I can recall not being impressed years ago.

Steef, it doesn't have wizard blasts in it. Need I say more?

Homeland Season 3

Overall a huge improvement over Season 2. Never had a bad episode, though one of the one towards the end of the season came close. Luckily they righted the ship after that and the season ended strong. In fact, it felt like it could have been a series finale, everything got wrapped up so nicely. Curious to see what direction they will go in Season 4..... I guess another brand new bad guy will pop out of nowhere again. They still haven't said who the mole in the CIA is after 3 full seasons!

2 Broke Girls 3x03 through 3x12

As usual not much to say, show is about the same every week. I like the storyline they are doing though with Max taking actual pastry school classes, and Caroline working there for more income. Any any role played by Mary Lynn Raksjub is always great, she's really funny here. Too bad the teacher turned out to be a cheating douche, another in a long line of bad love interests for the girls. I've noticed this season they are really highlighting more the strong bond between Caroline and Max, the episode where Max had to say she loved Caroline was really sweet. I know the show will never do this, but it would be interesting if they realized they were actually in love with each other and that's why things never work out with any of the guys they date :P

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Season 9

Funny overall, probably better than the previous season, though no big standout episode. Though I did really like the robbery episode with all the different scenarios, and Charlie getting smart.

Deedee is too skinny for me.

New Girl 3x05 through 3x10

Not really a fan of Jessica and Nick being together... doesn't seem to work as well as the producers think it does. Coach being back is great though, I dunno what it is about him that made his return instantly seem like he belonged there all along. I love Winston but they never give his character anything to do for some reason. he gets a cat and Coach gets to pursue CeCe? I liked the girl Winston met that found his cat, but she hasn't appeared again since.

The Mindy Project 2x04 through 2x11

Meh. Not a bad show but nothing special. Charming cast but no compelling storylines.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine 1x04 through 1x11

I gotta say, this is one of the best comedies on TV right now! Very consistently funny from week to week. All the characters get their moments to shine. Andre Braugher almost always steals the show, but I love some of the quirks of Terry and Boyle too. The breakout star for me is Chelsea Peretti, I had never heard of her before but I love her on this show. Must check out her other work.

Jake was so ecstatic getting to spend a day with Holt . I wonder if we will meet Holt's husband in the second half of the season

The pilot is the worst episode, it gets better from there

Christina Hendricks pops up in two episodes, young and hot

I wasn't expecting anything great in terms of visual effects, but its pretty awful looking. Doesn't help the aesthetic, but I guess if you're a struggling low budget TV show in 2002, that's the best you can hope for.

The pilot takes ages to get going as I remember it. It wasnt that great. Also, don't watch Firefly expecting cutting edge CGI.

Indeed, even my son knew better not to concentrate on the effects. Watch Firefly for a dose of Whedonism.

It features the mom from Homeland when she was young and hot.

Serenity has a few ace scenes. 1) The first scene with the villain and sword. 2) River kicking ass in the bar.
