There are some parallels. Both are wearing black, have troubled pasts, are cold and cruel sometimes, have exceptional talents and skills and turn out to be good in the very end. Which (movie) character do you like better?

Snape... NOT.

Of course, Darth Vader.

Anyway, this poll is kind of stupid. Sorry!

Then why bother posting?

Actually, coming from Josh, that post is really quite funny.

Yes.

I vote for Darth Vader as featured in Star Wars & The Empire Strikes Back.

That's sort of unfair. The film version of Snape has so much awesome storyline and past that hasn't been revealed yet. So from what I've seen so far from the films, I'd vote Vader without a second thought. If I were voting film Vader against book Snape...I don't know.

Is there no love for Severus?

Well Severus is a bitter greasy haired a bit whiny weirdo with a big nose who dresses in a English professor's uniform masquerading as a robe.

Anakin is a bald, whiny and unquestionably the most melodramatic weirdo with burn scars all over and wears a cool armor/life preservation suit with a nazi helmet and a skull like breathing mask.

Hmmm. I guess Vader wins by a costume.

Severus. The real Severus from the books, not the film version.

When you take the final book into account he certainly is the more interesting character.

Actually I thought with a lot of younger members around there might be some competition from Snape these days :)

It's true that the movie character had not had it's full development, so this thread might be premature. Now I vote Vader, though that might change in the future. Snape I think is one of the most powerful on screen characters of the past few years.

Vader is the better villian. Snape is the better character, after Deathly Hallows you can't look at the man the same way.

Me too. There's no way any other villain could win a poll against Vader.

Yes. Definitely not as imposing a villain, but a better character with a better arc for sure.

oh no no no, Rickman's portrayal of the character is superb, if not truncated by the films.

Rickman is Snape to a T or in this case an S.

You task me...you task me, and I shall have you!

One cannot be a great villain, if he doesn't even manage to defeat Frank Drebin...
