Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was released! Hard to believe it's only been a year.

Yes! I miss those days.

I think that's the most excited I've been before the release of a movie (or soundtrack)... :)

I think it's gonna be a nostalgic time for me. I was one of those that really enjoyed the film and score despite their respective flaws, and it was just a really cool thing going to my first ever midnight showing to see it, and then going to pick up the soundtrack and listening to it later in the day. Good times.

Some cues in the score are better than anything composed by other composers in the past 3 years

Such as...?

That is true. Logically, then, you admit that some cues are not better.

Do you really believe that is true? Some individual cues in KOTCS are better than ANYTHING composed by other composers in the past 3 years?

A score and film that wasted a collective 280 minutes of my life I'll never get back. What an abomination to all this good in JW.

Disable the signature viewing option in your controls.

who fraking cares.

Indeed.

The score sits un-removed from the Concord box set for almost a year.

Star Trek has more than made up for last May.

Fanboys can't be reasoned with Koray.

I like the movie more now than I did when it first came out. I was actually surprised by how much I enjoyed it the last time I saw it (only seen it twice). It's very flawed though.

At least it's more appropriate and respectful to JW than what Blumenkhol has to say

Call of the Crystal ,Jungle Chase,Irena's Theme, Adventures of Mutt ,Ants,The Departure ..these are all cues that can fit in any "best of" compilation of JW . Any fan that got into JW in the first place should at least find something of value in those cues

it's like saying Han and the Princess is similar to Marion;s theme, therefore Marion;s theme sucks

And Call of the Crystal is nothing like the Ark theme. as usual Koray you don't know what your talking about

It's still a fun ride, despite the flaws. Not as much as Last Crusade, though.

Crusade isn't as fun or as flawed?

It depends on how long this compilation is. If you're making a realistic 60-minute "Best of JW" CD I wouldn't even go near KOTCS.

If you did one without any SW then I think there'd be room for something.

I sort of agree there. I think those are some of the better cues (and I consider Jungle Chase to be a superb action cue). And I'm listening again to The Secret Revealed and it's actually a lot better than when I last listened to it, although I don't like the part starting at 2:18 until the swirling strings start to appear.

You could easily do a 60 min best of Williams CD and leave out all of the music from the Star Wars films.

Crusade is more fun and less flawed.

Oh, okay. They are both completely different. Absolutely no chance for similarity. The Skull theme is the Ark theme rehashed.

Easily.
