It seems that Williams is taking after Jablonsky these days...

Which is a shame because I believe he is classically trained and he never was a member of MV.

Okay, so I just went through Rabin's credits again. What about Con Air, which he composed with Marc Mancina, and Armageddon and Enemy of the State, which he composed with Harry Gregson-Williams? Or were those more like James Newton-Howard's involvement with Batman Begins and The Dark Knight?

I believe he and Mark Mancina are friends. I know he performed on Twister.

As far as the other ones go he has scored Bruckheimer films but he never actually worked under Zimmer at MV.

Transformers are as clished as possible. That score rips from countless number of other composers' works. It does have some enjoyable moments, but it's overall a piece of poo (the same way like hamburger at McDonald's is a poo, but can be eaten with pleasure from time to time).

I don't know if I'd go that far--the pleasure part. I could see myself enjoying it in an odd sort of way, but I just feel so inundated with that stuff that it's exasperating. I don't want moody synthestra chordal crap smeared all over my action/adventure films--give me some rip-snortin' orchestral fun on those giant robot explosions, thank you! I don't mind a dose of gravitas to the proceedings, but typically the RCP action scores take themselves way...too...freakin'...seriously.

No, POTC will always take the cake for my MV/RCP guilty pleasure listenings.

I can hardly argue with either of those! ;)
