Anyone bumping this thread on the 1st of each month and NOT pisting the actual banner should be done for cyber-bullying. My shattered nerves! 😂

Karol

Then what do you propose for the guys who keep bumping the Hal Leonard thread without announcing the TROS suite publication?

For anyone wondering when the banner might drop today,

May's arrived at 11:51am EST

June's arrived at 3:18pm EST

July's arrived at 1:18pm EST

August's arrived at 12:19pm EST

So that's a window of about 2 hours from now through about 5 hours from now

I so love that you keep metrics!

I'm not going to hype myself, in all probability it will be more Star Trek and Blake Neely*

*with all due respect for those fine compositions and for the amount of work that goes into each release

A little joke since we're so used to getting a Goldsmith release every month :P

...or two...or three...lol! We have a third of the year left, and I think Varese Sarabande has already released more Goldsmith expansions than they have in any previous year. I think the same might be true of Intrada... LLL are the comparative slackers this year, with "only" two releases (and one of those two did have three scores represented).

Let's look back at a statement MV made back on May 1st of this year, here.

"We currently have 8 titles still waiting approvals at UME which has been going on for a long long time

Two titles at Sony Music

1 over at WMG

And a host of others all over town.

X-Men was the first title to get out of that UME log jam. Hopefully others will follow shortly."

Since that post, LLL has announced:

UME/UMG (Universal music):

  1. Always
  2. Somewhere In Time
  3. Glory

SME (Sony music):

  • none

WMG (Warner music):

  1. A.I. Artificial Intelligence re-issue
  2. Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan

all over town

  1. Caboblanco (Silver Lion Films)
  2. Dragonslayer (Paramount Pictures)
  3. Infinite (Paramount Pictures)
  4. Internal Affairs (Paramount Pictures)
  5. Waiting for Barbarians (Pianella Music)
  6. Time Tunnel Vol 2 (Synthesis Entertainment, 20th Century Studios and Legendary Pictures)
  7. Snake Eyes (Paramount Pictures)
  8. Woman Warriors (Higher Purpose Production)
  9. Stripes (Sony pictures)

So remaining from his May 1st post are still 5 more Universal Music titles, and the 2 Sony Music titles (which incidentally, he first mentioned back in February 2019)

Wondering which Williams scores are controlled by Universal Music or Sony Music?  See John Williams scores - By Music Label

Universal Music Group is a music company, completely unrelated to Universal Pictures.

Universal Pictures owns Sugarland Express entirely, because that score has never had an album released.

Not Universal Music or Sony Music, but I think there's plenty of James Horner scores from his post-Titanic years, specifically the late 90s/early 2000s, that I'd love to see expanded: Deep Impact, The Perfect Storm, Enemy at the Gates, Mask/Legend of Zorro...

The problem could also be overprotective managers

:lol2:

It's never too late to fire a crooked manager. Aznavour fired his life long time manager when he was 90 yo!

Sony Music

  • Jurassic Park 3 (2001 Davis)

Is that real or an error?

Because then it wont see the light of day ever :(

But i thought it was UMG-Decca, at least the european version i have.

All five of those are Sony Music actually

@NL197 posted a list of which Horner scores are tied to Sony Music here

Quote

For Horner scores it means no chances of expansion for the following:

1994 - Legends Of The Fall (one of the DVDs had an isolated score)

I guess that just made the cut? Glad that happened at least

The Sony Music situation MV revealed in early 2019 was just a temporary one, he later revealed everything was back to normal.  His post about that should be in that same thread.

Considering it was only temporary, it's curious that those titles mentioned back in 2019 still haven't come out yet?

I would've guessed scores like Seven Years in Tibet or Hook would be high on the labels' wishlists.
