The Witches Of Eastwick (already problematic due to Prometheus Records)

I'm not sure what Prometheus Records has to do with The Witches of Eastwick.

Are you thinking of Perseverance Records, who have a license to sell the OST program?

If Potter isn't announced on Friday, I'm going to buy 30 bags of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Jelly Beans, go through them each assiduously picking out just the vomit flavored beans, and mail them to La

Not to mention that very significant milestone anniversary in 2021........   It's so obvious now!

Disc 1: left channel Disc 2: right channel Disc 3: OST   Mystery solved.

Some updates from MV, not all positive

MV’s comment about being screwed this fall is distressing. In addition to putting project approvals on hiatus (à la WB) the pandemic’s widespread unemployment must surely be dampening CD sales. I hope things aren’t as bleak as I’m thinking at the moment.

Glad we got Twister, The Bodyguard, Innerspace, Potter I-III, The Great Santini, the Blue Box, [insert favourite already released WB expansion/premiere here], etc. when we did.

Sad but not devastated we now possibly won't get JFK (the OST is pretty good if one removes all the very jarring songs dotted within the sequence).

currently in limbo doesn't mean closed for good.  Things change.  During a pandemic WB is choosing not to prioritize tiny specialty label's requests for approvals but things will turn around again

This thing is going to be with us for a while Jay. Studios can't even release their new films. They may go bust.

Great news guys, the Star Wars Prequels are coming exclusively to vinyl!

Hear pristine remasters of the complete scores come to life through the crackle and pops just as Williams intended. The release will be a mega limited edition through Mondo featuring artwork made exclusively for the set by Drew Struzan. Once it's gone, it's gone.

It's the end of modern cinema that Spielberg predicted! The Mayan calendar didn't predict the end of the world, it predicted the beginning of the slow decay of filmmaking!

Ironically, it's those streaming services he campaigned against that are keeping movies alive in this post-COVID era.

And based on the way things are heading in the US, cinemas won't be flourishing again for years to come.

They're open in Australia.

Not in Victoria. They were showing Alien before the new restrictions which would've been cool to see on the big screen.

You do realise that's irrelevant to the big studios, right? They won't be releasing their tent-pole films internationally while US cinemas are closed and not viable.

International cinemas won't recover until the US gets their situation under control and big film releases are viable again, regardless of localised success with suppressing COVID.

The best thing we can all do to help them stay in business is buy all LLL titles directly from them, and try to buy as many as you can

ALMOST everything I want is in the UI vaults.

Hope those continue being released.

After taking our latest inventory and double checking numbers/contracts we discovered that the following 3 titles are now sold out/out of print.

CUTTHROAT ISLAND
COMMANDO (REISSUE)
MILLENNIUM VOL 2

My apologies for not posting any warnings.

Happy hunting!

is there still a (slight) chance for an "Angel" (TV-Series) CD-release?

Also I wanted to ask if a "Dune" (1984) release is now less or more likely due to new film-version at the end of this year?

Would love to see both happen

Is a CD release of Bear McCreary's wonderful score to RIM OF THE WORLD in any pipelines you might be laying?
Or any more Bear Mc in general forthcoming?

I have no clue

I failed to get the Superman TAS boxed set. I'm hoping LLL will reprint it and Lost in Space someday.

No to both

Sorry, did ‘No’ also include any more Superman TAS in the future? Thanks

No plans to reprint either set

After the excellent release of Sliver any chance of Single White Female, another fine early 90's Shore score.

And what about an expanded edition of Elliot Goldenthal's Final Fantasy, one of EG's rare non-WB titles

No plans for either and looking at the sales of silver wouldn't release self sadly

I also hope for one more Superman TAS box set. They did sell all of the first one.

I don’t think they sold the full print run of 3000. I think it was closer to half.

Yeah about half

I missed The Phantom, and as I strongly suspect it won't get a repressing from yourselves... you don't happen to have a spare new copy sat on a shelf somewhere that I could buy do you? )

Nothing left here

Unfortunately this magnificent score didn't sell as well as we had hoped. Really shocked me. We sold what we had didn't repress and contract has expired.

Is La-La Land planning a Black Friday batch of exciting titles for 2020, or has the pandemic caused a shift more towards "we'll just release things as they get approved instead of saving titles for certain dates"?

Who the heck knows

MV

Not the most optimistic sounding replies from MV. It can't be helpful that some studios have closed their vaults, especially if LLL were deep in negotiations on acquiring certain scores.

Withholding big releases until Black Friday, if signed off and ready for printing, must be quite the conundrum. It might make more sense to release titles as soon as approvals are complete, financially.

Yes Jay I am aware of the large number of JW releases by LLL, I've got each one and cherish them all (except for Jane Eyre, missed out on that one :)

I wasn't complaining "too much" as you put it, simply wishing for another release, that's all.  Is that wrong?  Last I checked this is a JW fan website and forum for us to discuss our wants for more releases.  Let's not play thought police please, there's enough of that going on in this world, thanks!

Thank you so much for taking the time to type all that! (Late acknowledgement because of computerless holiday abroad.) Nothing for me yet.
