I also ordered Intrada's release for Alien. Ive been meaning to get that one but never did.

Bravo, Trent! Now this is a REALLY good investment, IMO this is one of the best soundtrack releases ever, in all aspects, musical as well as technical ones.

Ordered at SAE. Shipping for the MOH box is $7 more, but if the customs ignore it, I still win. Plus I added some used CDs to the batch.

Why would the customs notice the LaLaLand package? They make a special effort, too, don't they?

As I've never ordered there, I don't know. With a package of this size, I'm taking chances at SAE, anyway. But lately, the customs have been friendly, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I got First Knight ordered from Movie Music. I also ordered Intrada's release for Alien. Ive been meaning to get that one but never did.

A bit late to that party, are you not?

One of my favorite CDs. Top notch all around.

First Knight is a totally unexpected release. If I remember correctly, recent year somebody in Intrada forum said that a complete release of First Knight is impossible, because the right was holding in Sony's hand and Sony had no interest to release a complete First Knight.

For years, I prayed that Sony to bankrupt and someone who would consider to re-issue it in complete format get the right. But now, I don't have to wait until Sony bankrupt.

It is an exciting news. Especially if you know that Sony also hold the right of AOTC and ROTS. It means the Star Wars prequel complete score might also have a chance to be release.

And since even Sony change its mind, who know what would be the next? Disney? Maybe someday we will see a complete Beauty and the Beast as well as The Lion King. The two holy grail by Disney.

I wouldn't count on the Prequels coming from someone other than Sony. Lukas Kendall had posted a while back saying Lucasfilm likes to sell the rights to the highest bidders. So at that point, non of our beloved labels could ever get their hands on the rights for the Star Wars Saga music.

I think the reason why La-La Land was successful in getting this released is because they have a good relationship with Sony as it is. After all they've released a few other scores that were once released under Sony's label.

I actually did send MV a message asking the possibility of LLL releasing the complete scores for Spider-Man 1 and 2 (Elfman). He replied back saying this...

Next to impossible. There is some sort of weirdness with that whole franchise and its music

So it seems he has looked into that possibility for those two.

Mmmmh..FIRST KNIGHT got a perfect sounding bootleg, but of course i want to support LalaLand, who have released some splendid expansions, especially of newer Goldsmith.

I don't know how many times I've heard 'impossible' regarding a score release but it's starting to really grate. I can imagine that it must be that the studios don't want to spend time and money sorting out legalities, and maybe are uncomfortable delegating that to a label.

I also skipped out on First Knight this time, believing that it'll stick around. But I did finally order Poltergeist, along with Testament and Slipstream, which might disappear. And, of course, MOH is on order from DarkDel, but one week, two weeks, I don't care how long it takes.

Given all the additional music BS that went on and Elfman's apparent disdain for the franchise & Raimi, I would imagine that we won't be seeing anything soon. I think quite a few apologies and hugs and whatnot need to happen, plus we are only 9 years removed from the first film. I would imagine the re-use fees are kinda high.

You're talking about Spider-Man 3; Trent emailed MV about Spider-Man 1 & 2.

I'm willing to bet Spiderman 3 would fall under the same problems.

It would. Plus someone asked Christopher Young directly about Spider-Man 3 and basically said it will never get released probably because of Elfman's themes were used in the score.

Also from what was told Sony would only release a score only version for Spider-Man 3 if Young removed Elfman's material. However, since Elfman's material compromised half of the score it wouldn't be very good. Plus with Young being an album producer he wouldn't agree to that.

I agree with this statement.

But ya I was asking about Spider-Man 1 and 2. I think there would be quite a few people who would have bought both scores if they were released. I think MV is right though in this matter for at least these two scores, it's next to impossible to release them. Despite the fact LLL has a good relationship with Sony.

I don't think Young would have sent out SM3 promos if they were illegal.

Yes and no. If you are doing it for awards or as demos for future assignments, yes it should be ok. But I believe handing them out to fans is a no-no.

Boot sounds good, but I'm sure a brand new Botnick remaster sounds better. :)

I'm trying to justify buying it right now. While I want to support the effort, $30 is a bit steep this point in time for me and I've had that boot for years.

My personal opinion is that if you have a boot & the score gets a release like this you really should buy it.

To a true collector, even he own a foot warmer, he would definitely buy the legit release.

As for Spidy 3, would it be release after Elfman die? How old is Elfman anyway? I am still young. I can wait.

Agreed, especially if you like the score because of the boot.

The only time I have kept a boot is if something is missing from the legit releaset IE: The Matrix and Honey, I Shrunk The Kids. If the legit release contains everything the boot had then I delete the boot.

However, for Independence Day, as my own personal edit for my iPod (before I got the iPhone), I used the boot to separate two cues that were meant to be separated, as well as giving two cues film version counter parts in an area of those two cues. After that I deleted the boot right away.

Crap! I still can't order. My "available balance" doesn't include the recent transfer to my account (which is taking longer than usual, for some reason) so I haven't got enough money to place this order. Hope MOH set lasts til tomorrow or monday... I doubt it'll happen today...

Morbidity aside, I really find it hard to believe we're going to have to wait a generation for Spidey 3 to be officially released.

Years? Probably. Young's words of "it'll never come out"? I don't buy that at all.

Hmm, Illustrating the Score put an updated image on Facebook today with a line from the film in his post.

I missed the post where he said it wouldn't be a clue.

It's right on the Facebook page, a little ways down.

A close up of a doodle of the La-La-Land monkey. It will be used in one of their upcoming FSM message board avatars, but it SHOULDN'T be considered a clue, nor does it hint at anything that might be coming out. Just one sick monkey. :)

Last Thursday, Illustrating The Score posted a few pictures of him working on the new avatar, but only closeups of the barfing monkey. On one of those posts he said it wasn't a clue.

Then this Monday, MV started using the full picture as his avatar on the FSM boards, and then Illustrating The Score posted a larger version of the full picture as well.

The face above the monkey is similar to the scene where the waitress is in the phone booth trying to dial for help and the blob covers the booth and you see the remains of the Sheriff's face floating in the goo.

The second one takes advantage of the technology and ratings to push it to the limit. While not bloody, it's very gory and violent.

the first one is typical of the monster films made during that time period.
