#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
Both are special effects juggernauts that are titled after a year somewere in the future.Which of these do you personally prefer?
Ollie 1,059
I don't plan on seeing 2012 anytime soon and while 2001 is a technical marvel to look at it is one of the dullest films to sit thru.So I won't vote.
John Crichton 4
I haven't ever made it through all of 2001, but it's still better than 2012.
Quintus 5,399
This is possibly the dumbest comparison ever. Anyway, I would choose 2001, although I do agree with Mark - it is dull as dishwater, for the most part.2012 is easily the most fun movie of the two though. Depending on my mood, I sometimes prefer a rollercoaster ride to a ferris wheel.

JoeinAR 1,949
2001 is so damned boring and I don't get bored often. 2012 is over the top.I have seen both, I don't plan on seeing either again.
Romão 2,274
2001, boring or not, allows to extract something from it. 2012 is a piece of crap.
Melange 446
Boredom isn't an issue that would arise with 2001, if one is watching the movie from the right place.
Koray Savas 2,251
Just because it has a minimal amount of dialogue doesn't automatically mean it's boring.

Taikomochi 1,136
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... Is this a serious poll? I mean, we have the brilliance of Stanley Kubrick against... Rolland Emmerich? I don't think so
Unlucky Bastard 7,782
No, it's Kubrick vs. Emmerich and Kloser.
Taikomochi 1,136
I suppose you're right. I forgot to acknowledge Kloser's brilliance.
