The Official Varese Sarabande Thread

It's been a few years since I've ordered anything from Varese... do they usually start shipping on the same day (or next day) that they put up the titles, or is it more like LLL where they take a couple weeks before they begin shipping orders?

That's what I thought. Ah well, at least I got priority shipping, that way it'll come a whole day early. :P

Ah looks like you were incorrect this time! Apparently some people have already received their packages today (or technically yesterday).

I just wish Varese had some type of tracking information, or even an email notifying you of your package shipping.

Received the DE today; good and quick shipping from England to Bavaria. Looking forward to listening to it!

The original CD was my 14th CD purchase on (no kidding) April 1, 1997...together, amazingly in retrospect, and not-planned-as-such, the OST for The Hunt for Red October. I remember that in those days, I had to drive to Munich to a specialty store to get soundtracks! Only 23 years ago...FML.

I'll keep the OST, because:

Who the heck is this John Deby?

Why the heck did JW put the five-note motif from CE3K down when it was the cover of Empire of the Sun I sent him for signing? :D

Did I catch things right that I have to hold onto the old OST because of version of the Opening Credits featured on it which isn't on the DE? [CURSING IN BAVARIAN]

Correct. The opening credits on the DE is from the pilot episode.

:stick: Can't they do these things 100% right?! Sweet Betsy... Anything else that is on the original 30 minutes but not on the 125 minute one?!?

Ah well...I'm holding on to the original in any case, because (a) Debney autographed it for me and (b) it has the better artwork.

Thanks, MS!

It's too good to trade. You should keep it!

If I liked the film I might. There is good stuff in there, for sure.

But.....all those tv commercials!

I'll only trade it for something like CHECKMATE ....HITCHCOCK/HERRMANN

I have plenty of BASIL I like BETTER.

Dont tell me what to do!😡😠😍

Fyi I have relatives all over, esp. In show biz( like many folks of the Jewish persuasion).

I just learned that Jeff Russo is a cousin. He was adopted which splains the Eyetalian surname!😊

Are you an Edmilson who practices law?

The difference between Shark and me is he answers my posts BEFORE I even finish!

I , on the other hand, have a life. Well, sort of😥

CD CLUB mini ALERT! We have had one title ready to go and it is taking longer than expected to find him a partner. So we just decided to put out this title on its own. Get excited for the smallest CD Club release ever. It's a good title though. Dropping this Friday at 10 AM PST.

It's not a clue, he's just saying that there's only 1 title in the batch as opposed to two or more titles

I guess he kinda forgot Giacchino's Star Trek: Deluxe Editions released on its own

It's barely been months since the last set of releases hasn't it? They really are speeding up getting their older stuff out.

Sadly, at the expense of care and accuracy.

I hope the batch won't be just an untouched re-release of the original Brainstorm album and nothing else. ;)

Isn't the ost still in print?

A rerelease.would surely be filmtracks or a combo

" Mini" as in minimum packaging.

I'd be surprised if it was. I've had a CDR copy for some 20 years and don't recall ever coming across an original to replace it with.

I have it on LP so I'd be up for a deluxe edition

The BRAINSTORM OST has been OOP since a very long time. Varese producers on FSM, forum under the new regime) have indicated that this is being in the works. Apparently the former head of Varese had vetoed the project. Luckily all those vetoed projects are now being considered for the Varese catalogue. We still dont know if BRAINSTORM is in this month's schedule.
